Information

This deck was adapted from a list given to me by Hashtag, and I changed a couple things mainly because I didn't have pristine light, but given how my games play out, I'm pretty sure this list is stronger now. I climbed to masters with my praxis pledge deck, but after the nerfs used this deck to continue my climb and I am currently sitting at rank 5. The game plan is pretty simple, you want an opener with a 2 or 3 drop and at least 3 power. Most of the games that are lost are because you don't draw enough power, but that's gonna happen when you play maindeck telut. Cards that are not in this deck: sheriff Marley, Pristine light, unseen commando, pearl abbey smuggler, Alessi, Tocas, other Time units, or Siraf. Beyond 2 drops, all of the units either fly or buff fliers (platemaker) which I felt was important so that I could keep attacking with my units. There aren't so many spells that I would want Alessi and smuggler, especially since J merchant can fly. Because this is a sediti deck, hitting TT can be difficult, especially on 3. Pristine light just seems too expensive to me in my deck that cares about tempo, but maybe it is worth it. Commando is in a similar spot where it might be good, but I haven't tried it.

Stand together has been pretty medium for me, but then again I haven't seen many harsh rule decks. Platemaker has pulled its weight in my eyes, being a good blocker when I need it and letting me turn the corner hard. I am sure that there are other cards I am forgetting to mention here, so feel free to ask questions.

edit 7/9/19: I changed out the teluts for defiances to help with aggro once the meta changed. I also put pristine in the market instead of vanquish, which has been pretty bad actually but idk, it has potential I think. Have been thinking about some unseen commandos or the other defiance instead of vanq blade.

Ok, so after beating my head against a wall with Stonescar Midrange (Vara variation and Yushkov/Ghodan variation) at D1 for a few days, I finally switched over to this deck. I immediately went to Master's, and I continued climbing from 150 to now top 100. So, thanks a bunch; this deck is extremely underrated.

One of the things that made me suspicious is that Hooru Fliers has completely disappeared, but after playing this deck I realized that some subtle advantages to this one are quite significant. First off, the Vara nerf makes it so that Aegis is much better, and I did need it against control decks (particularly this new Hooru Gustrider thing), so Combrei lives again. But also, I think the ability to run strong midrange tools like Defiance and Minotaur Platemaker put it in a better spot than the slightly greedier Hooru Fliers which is looking for Palace wins. I also found that it does surprisingly well against aggro with the Sword of Unity and Defiance, so maybe it's no surprise that I made a few slight modifications.

I did follow through and cut Vanquisher's Blade as you were considering to add Defiance and Vanquish for greater consistency. Vanquish is surprisingly good now even against Stonescar and Skycrag aggro decks with Champions getting hit. Vanquisher's Blade is just too slow for this kind of deck.

To make up for the lack of Hojan, Crownbreaker renown ability (which is quite valuable), I added 2 Emerald Coin for Justice sigils. I feel that this deck is ok with some depleted power and the 1/1 weapon turns out to be almost always useful. That's it; otherwise, I used everything else as listed; amazingly well constructed and completely hidden in this meta. I feel like no one is playing this deck despite it being favored in almost every matchup. I didn't even find Yetis to be a problem with all the silence for Wump. I think it is favored against Rakano despite that deck dominating the meta because of the speed of the kill; I will often get a Sword of Unity lethal right after their Reclaim turn for a surprise victory.

I guess the only thing I can add is that if you are interested in Expedition; this deck also makes the transition extremely well. The core is mostly there (minus Icaria, Valkyrie Captain), and with the decreased strength of the format, this deck just dominates. Hit me up if you're interested, and I can post and Expedition version. Thanks Matt!

I think cutting the blades makes a lot of sense, but I'm surprised that you liked adding more depleted power. I often feel like I want to curve out, so every depleted power I have feels really bad. Especially since Hojan doesn't get the coin buff until after damage, it seems a little weird. But I'm glad it worked for you! If you get the right draw it can definitely do well in a lot of matchups, but I still think it is weak to aggro. I'm sure the extra defiance helped though. I've been playing a really similar list in expedition as well, I kind of merged this deck and Camat0s version, because I wanted to try out OG siraf. Feel free to post your expedition version, I guess just credit me as inspiration if you feel it is deserved. I've been top 20- top 10 for a lot of games with this deck, although I just hit a loss streak and am in the 40s. Definitely a strong and fun deck, I'm glad you liked it!

Yes, you're probably right that more depleted power is probably wrong, but I'm still leaning towards the Coin over the Standard because the Standard just comes down so late, and the ramp/lifesteal potential off Hojan is too great to ignore.

I'll post my expedition deck and credit you. Cheers!

Thus ist one of the best Decks I have played for a long time. Went through D3-D1 with a like 80 percent winrate last season.

In the new meta with lots of Rakano midrange I think this deck needs some improvement. I played against you today and you destroyed me, so can I please have an updated list? 😀
Matt117 Eternal Version: 1.46.8
I agree that it is a lot worse in this meta. It takes me like 20 or more games to climb a rank with it. So far, my only changes have been to completely cut Telut for 3 defiance and Svetya in the market. I think it would need a major overhaul to do better into rakano. Flying doesn't matter so much against them, so I am thinking about playing more non fliers like..siraf, smuggler, or.kimi? . Could also try to be more aggressive, but I'm not sure that is winning. Playing wasp might also be good.

good one matt
joepunchface Eternal Version: 1.46.7
How important is Sword of Unity? I don't have any of those and it makes this deck pretty expensive to me.
Matt117 Eternal Version: 1.46.7
Sword of Unity is generally your best chance of beating aggro, because a big flying lifesteal threat is really good against decks like mono red. It is also a really good finisher in general. However, the deck could get by with only a Sword in the market, and you could fill out the 3 in the deck with the last Desert Marshal and some Stand Togethers, or any number of other cards that I listed above.
