Anyone who knows me knows that 99.99% of what I play is Skycrag. So I decided to break out the
Shorthopper /
Davia, Azurebreaker combo/control deck once again. I started in the upper 200s rank-wise and climbed to rank 9 masters. It is a very straightforward control deck with tons of removal and units to stall you for your win/con
Davia, Azurebreaker . at which point you combo off with either the cards discarded by
Shorthopper or
Channel the Tempest. The deck boasts a very great 70% win/rate over 20 games at the current moment.
Cards of note:
Davia, Azurebreaker This is your bread and butter win condition, discard big spells and secure them with Davia. It is important to note that in the aggro matchup, you don't need to wait for your big spells with Davia. You can instead recure cards such as
Hailstorm,
Torch,
Ice Bolt, etc...
Shorthopper The other half of your primary win/con discard big spells and beat face with hopper.
Channel the Tempest This is you're alternate win/con against other control decks and grinder match-ups fairly straightforward.
Garden of Omens The primary use for Garden is to prevent face aegis from blocking certain spells. However it can be a very useful tool in midrange match-ups against bigger units.
Market
The market is very flexible with tons of big spell options to run as such the market can be switched up to match your playstyle. I would highly recomend keeping in
Aid of the Hooru as this card can carry the game off its back solo.
Main deck swaps
For the most part the main deck is pretty refined, however cards like
Strategize can be swapped for
Icy Scrying.
Torch for
Sear Backlash for
Unseal etc...
If you enjoy the deck let me know and leave a comment or an upvote happy climbing!
