UPDATE:
I'm low on testing time but thinking about the aim of the deck, I'm not sure about
Shakedown. It's really great in the first 2-3 turns of the game and nightfall is always relevant, but in this deck that focuses on making draws unplayable due to cost increasing effects, we are going to run out of targets later. I like 4 copies to maximize the chance of drawing one early, and the alternative to me is to run 0 copies. I'm strongly considering 3-4
Sabotage in the main now that relics and market spells are in the game compared to the early days. I think we're looking at a much less situational discard card. Moving sabotage main frees up a market slot for I think a slam dunk
Dark Return!
I've been brewing and testing decks with taxing effects like
Slow and
Teacher of Humility for the last 12 hours. I think I've settled on a solid deck here, so I'm not listing this one as WIP though it can no doubt be improved. After trying Elysian and then mono Time, I found I was still losing about 40% of my games to three faction greed piles which are prevalent on the ladder right now.
I'm going with Xenan for an incredible toolbox market with Condemn, and tons of nightfall support which can easily close out half the life total dealing 2 at a time. This deck grinds really well and absolutely DECIMATES the opponent's hand and plays the "resource denial" game quite well with all the nightfall draws costing more off the Discipline curse relics. We get incremental value by seeing more cards at normal cost while the opponent can't play efficiently with their extra cards.
I would love to find room for just a bit more removal main, perhaps a
Vara's Choice and a maybe a market
Dark Return but I really can't find a cut.
Miris Nightshade is an absolute monster in this deck adding so much incidental damage.
Ziat, Steelwarren Reeve is currently a 3-of, I'd like to fit 4 and the nerf is mostly irrelevant. Card is great! This is the card I most want a Dark Return for.
I hope you enjoy it!
