Hey y'all - I'm back with a deck I have been working on like crazy this season. I have tuned the heck out of it and it's gotten to the point where I think it's really strong against this meta.
My absolute favorite part about the deck is the mana base. I can't tell you how satisfying it is to play a deck with 0 sigils. The only thing about no sigils means no seek power which in turn means more base power (I'm currently running 29 - I've tried more, I've tried less - 29 feels about right). Also,
Common Cause is just fantastic.
The other main meta switch I made was
Feeding Time over
Vanquish. Probably self explanatory. Maktos and Direwood Beastcallers running around everywhere.
I've tried toying around with the numbers at the 2 drop spot. Trust me, just don't.
Darkveil Agent giving every single creature in your deck aegis is too strong.
Miris Nightshade cursing your opponent often helps close out close games. And
Kothon, the Far-Watcher is, well, Kothon.
The 8 5+ cost cards are your flex spots.
Alu, Death-Dreamer, even after a bunch of games, I still don't know. A 2/5 flyer is super nice in a world of Haunting Screams. Turning on nightfall is a big deal for this deck. And you have 8 ways to get free 3/3s that come up more than you'd think. If you don't have Alu, I think that's fine, but if you do, I'd keep her (him?) and look elsewhere for swaps.
Lida, Most Skilled is awesome. I waffle on playing 3 or 4. I landed on 3 for this version because sometimes your 5 drop killer just can't kill a sandstorm titan or an opposing Makto (though with Commando out it can kill Makto so remember that).
And then there's
Zelia, the Vain. The deck started with 4. At it's worst it's a 4/4 deadly creature that can cheat into play for way less mana. At it's best it's a grenadine eating machine. But the thing is, his ability is super expensive. This is a very mana intensive deck. You can't often afford to sit back and chip away at guys. And it also wants to attack with its Shelterwing Riders (or block) - not help make Zelia cost 1. So eventually I dropped Zelia to 3... then to 2... and I think maybe I might ultimately cut him to 1 in place of a 4th Lida or a 3rd Alu... and possibly cut him altogether eventually.
Well, that's it for now. If you have any questions or suggestions I always welcome both so please leave them in the comments. Hope some of you enjoy the deck as much as I have!
Personally, I prefer running Sigils and Seek Power to thin you deck of power. Also, Emerald Waystone may not be worth it in this deck.
