I wanted to mess around with the new cards from Homecoming to see if the support that Pledge got will make it viable. I chose TJP as my shell because while Primal doesn't really have the same powerful Pledge units that the other factions have, I think
Korovyat Palace is an absolute bomb of a card so I wanted to include it. In many ways this deck takes some inspiration from the old 4 Peaks Jennev Midrange deck and its game plan is mostly similar: cycle through your deck and develop your power base early while answering early threats from the opponent, and then close out the game with the deck's powerful and efficient units.
Some notes on the deck
Aniyah, Arctic Sheriff: Aniyah can be a really strong card, but this deck lacks the ability to trigger her Renown apart from Palace, therefore I'm only running 2 copies of her. As a Pledge unit, I think she's too good not to include, but this is something to keep in mind. Jamming in extra spells or weapons didn't seem worth it to me, but if you really dislike not being to Renown her you could possibly fit
Sword of Unity in somehow, although you'd probably have to cut
Hooru Pacifier to do that.
Korovyat Palace: I think this card is extremely strong, possibly on the same power level as
Howling Peak. Right now I'm testing out 3 in the maindeck and 1 in the market, but there's the potential that just one in the market could be sufficient.
Sandstorm Titan: Not including Titan is probably a mistake and its likely just a better inclusion than Pacifier, but I have to see how I like Pacifier before I come to my decision.
The market is the part of the deck that I'm least happy with. Switching to just one copy of Palace in the market lets you run
Great Valley Smuggler instead of
Jennev Merchant and opens up some additional options to consider in the market (like the Sword of Unity I mentioned above). There's also a chance that this could be an 8 merchant deck, although I'd only consider that if I end up cutting the maindeck Palaces.
I'm sure this deck will need some tweaking as I start to figure out its strengths and weaknesses, but so far it's been very fun to play.
