I came up with this concept as well, and tried to make a similar deck. My version doesn't work yet because I'm missing some key cards like Hailstorm for delay. My suggestion for you is to put in some Clan Banners and maybe some Shugo Banners. This deck should run quite well once you get to 5 power, so it's nice to turn some of that excess power into more spells!

The extra tactics are indeed something i overlooked and that can help with the combo. Lightning storm could replace hailstorm. Upside: it is faster and it keeps your icespears alive. Downside: it does not kill teacher... and you tend to draw a lot of cards.
