UPDATE: I've kept playing with the deck this morning/afternoon and it just keeps winning. 6 for 7 going all the way through, the only loss coming to the boss with units costing 1 less (and he drew 3x Enforcers and 2x desert marshals).
Hey everyone, I was going to exclaim to all the newer players that this is a budget deck (because, you know, no legendaries), but they I realized there are a TON of rares in it. Sorry about that.
With that said, if you have the cards, this deck is just absolutely nuts against the AI in gauntlet. With 8
Rapid Shots, 8 ways to draw extra cards (
Fenris Nightshade and
Auric Interrogator), and 8 5/5s for way less power than a 5/5 should cost (one of which flies!), the AI just has no idea what to do. Oh, and you technically have a 5/6 for 1 in the deck too since
Sewer Sludge can easily curve to that level.
Just two quick notes that I've found useful. 1) The AI WAY overvalues Nightshade for some reason so you can use that to your advantage at times. And 2) Using Cabal Tactic to give quick-draw to your blocked unit and the other half to the Interrogator you just played is usually right as the 2 damage you miss out on is far outweighed by the card you draw at the end of your turn.
Last note is about the market which I think is pretty perfect (though I'd love to hear suggestions). First, my theory on markets is that every single one ever should have at least one power and one 4-drop to curve into (or 5-drop possibly in time). So, the Waystone and the
Impending Doom fill those roles perfectly. And then the singleton
Annihilate in the market has won me so many games on the spot by removing their one big blocker. The
Shadowlands Guide is potentially "cute" but I really don't think so because getting back a 3/4 or 4/5 sludge to go with your 3/1 guide is pretty insane for 3 power. And
Dark Return just is what it is. Sometimes you just need to fish back out a dead Doom :)
That's it, I hope this deck helps some others gain easy and quick gauntlet wins like it has for me!
I know the verdict on Blackhall Warleader is that it's not that great, but it seems like it would be more reliably activated in gauntlet.
Also, Madness seems like a must have in the market. The AI is soooo stupid when it comes to that card - they will 2 for one themselves or even 3 for one themselves except in specific situations (such as when they'd get you for lethal if they don't block the madness'ed unit).
