Currently on a 15 game win streak with this deck on ranked. I've been testing different builds of Aurelian pretty extensively these past couple of days and this is probably my most optimized build. I really like these colors and I think display of knowledge is absolutely insane.

Maindeck Card choices
--------------------------------------

Display of Knowledge is one of the main reasons why we play Ayan, the Abductor because killing Howling Peaks is really important and being able to flash Ayan in and buff him can really mess up your opponents day. I also love playing the relics in the deck. Eye of Winter is great in topdeck wars against all creature based decks and being able to hit Azindel's Gift against control decks every game with display absolutely demolishes them

Only 3x Merchant - We don't really want to draw more than one merchant each game because all the cards in our market are either redundant effects or end the game, making multiple merchants worse (and its very easy to hit your first merchant with 4x Strategize and 4x Wisdom of the Elders)

Jennev Merchant over Great Valley Smuggler - The Black market is much worse in this deck. The bigger body (surviving hailstorm) is nice and lack of anti-synergy with Vara is great too, but Hailstorm and Display of Knowledge have been very good for me and are too good to pass up. If you're facing lots of relic removal I'd switch to smuggler for Disjunction and put the 4th Display of Knowledge back in the main.

2x Lightning Strike - This is for weapon destruction and beating early multi color aggro decks over Annihilate

3x Seek power - With all of our draw spells and 4x Auralian Cargo, seek power is pretty redundant and our powerbase is already fine.

Not playing the 4th Banish - Banish is versatile and strong but we already have tons of removal and most of the strongest relics cost more than 4. If you're facing lots of Avigraft shutting off your Varas or Ayans definitely put that 4th in.


Market

Permafrost - Cheap removal for early game or when trying to push through damage. I've tried a feeding time in this spot but it doesn't work as well because perma allows us to play it and other cards in the same turn.

Hailstorm - This slot is teched for ladder and as I've been facing loads of aggro decks I've found it pretty important. If you aren't facing as much aggro I'd recommend swapping the copies in the main deck before this copy in the market

Display of Knowledge - This card is so important that having the 4th in the market is necessary. Every mode is amazing in this deck and this card is what you should take when you're just playing your merchant for tempo because this card is so versatile and useful at every state in the game (unless you have both relics)

Brilliant Idea - Huge refill. This card is very strong but I'm really not sold on it. Mostly just insurance against control. Rain of Frogs is equally good in this slot but I just love drawing cards

Scourge of Frosthome - Game ender against control and when you need a big butt lategame against aggro

Not sure how it plays, but from looking at it, it does not look promising. There are no answers to howling peak, and it runs 6 pieces of 4-cost removal that just gets killed on tempo. Eye of Winter with no way to sweep the board beyond hailstorm has felt awful for me when I tried to build around display of knowledge as well, and your wincons are essentially getting one of a few units to actually stick through an endless sea of possible removal, with no way of actually defending those units unless you manage to land an azindel's gift.

All in all, looks like a more vulnerable Feln control from the old days. But I could be completely mistaken.

Totally fair comments. The four cost removal does hurt at times and lack of a sweeper does really suck against most midrange decks (howling peak is a pretty terrible matchup) but I'd recommend trying it out and I've found that sticking a unit with ayan's ult and the ease of sticking gift pretty reliable in my testing. Midrange might be a problem but all the aggresive decks get destroyed by removal pile and hailstorm and control is great with the gift and scourge. I absolutely love this faction combo and have played them since season 2 in various control decks, so if you find some way to make this build better I'd love to hear it!

lightning strike was more of a meta choice as I was facing loads of aggro decks. I really don't think this deck wants equivocate as it is negative card advantage and can really backfire because you still have to remove the unit. Equivocate is much better in justice control decks that have access to harsh rule to somewhat negate that card disadvantage that equivocate represents
