This deck is running me through expedition wins FAST. Yetis are still good, you just play them differently. The hero card of this deck is
Inspired Prank from the market. Small spells that get boosted by
Wizened Crone start to add up, and I have played a few 8/8 or more snowmen by turn 6.
Powderglider +
Bottoms Up surprises people early, allowing him to take out, and often survive, their early creatures.
Bottoms Up + the good ol' reliable
Blurreechaser sends a lot of damage that has quickdraw.
Using
Bottoms Up or
Thudrock's Masterwork to proc renown from
Mischief Yeti just gives you more damage to deal with threats by giving you snowballs and makes your snowman bigger.
Although it might seem tempting to include Yeti Spies for card draw or Bam, don't.
Greed's Reward +
Wizened Crone is enough card draw to keep this aggro deck rolling long enough to finish the match.
Quick games, quick wins. Have fun.
Edit: Added
Parry instead of
Bottoms Up. Still can proc renown and work with
Powderglider, but also helps keep
Wizened Crone alive and allows
Blurreechaser to scout more.
I got a few questions about your choices:
- Don't you like Bam, Sneakeepeekee? I find him very strong when the site is down, as he can attack into many things and leaves a blocker behind.
- On the other hand I'm not a big fan of 4x Ruincrawler Yeti. I can see me playing a few, or put it one the Market, but 4x looks a lot to me
- No Permafrost? I know it's not a spell but it's so effective, I'd be scared not to run it.
- I run a Market as I find the smuggler to be relevant with her +1 spell damage. Also I'm not sold on Inspired Prank, even if you praise him. The unit costs 4 and is not a Yeti and has no evasion. Having a real Market looks more interesting to me but of course I can be wrong.
I have not played a lot of games yet and my win-rate is okay but not great, so you might have made the correct calls but I'd like to know more about your cards selection process :)
I've kinda slacked off on expedition and am focusing on ranked, but I'm masters #295 using this deck.
I'm torn on ruincrawler yeti as well, he might be the only one I would sub out.
I do like Bam, but he is too slow for this deck. This deck often has control and is rolling way before Bam would get into play.
Inspired Prank tho, you gotta leave in. You may not like it as much once you start swapping in permafrost and other things, that's why keeping the spell count up is important. No, he's not a yeti, but he's a snowman, so he gets the buff from Thudrock's. Get a few spells in and a few of Thudrock's, then when you hit with 2 yeti you can drop a 5/5, 6/6, 7/7 or whatever snowman without having the card in hand. For an aggro deck, sometimes that's the final push for the win.
By all means, play with it and make it your own. I think this deck "as is" is a top 100 masters expedition deck, but like I say I'm sitting at 295 and don't plan on doing the grinding to prove or disprove that. So feel free to change things. If you haven't tried the deck "as is" with no changes tho, try it. Just try it for 10 or so games and see if you have changes after.
Also, it hurted to see someone play Knucklebones with 7 power and no face Aegis but hey, he won anyway.
