I just replaced the jennev merchant with great valley smuggler!
With the same cost,
And you are not limited to choosing only Primal cards (Or primal+time) from the market. And she get +2/+2 while you have a relic.
And about aegis, idk how much important aegis to merchant units, cause most of the times you not need them more then the 1st turn of them, when they let you choose a card from the market.

This deck has no relics, so nothing to trigger the +2/+2 with Smuggler. Aegis is a decent bonus so at least in this deck, the Merchant is better than Smuggler.
