This is a fairly cheap deck to build and it works very effectively. I took one of the best cards in the meta
Worldbearer Behemoth and decided to build around it. At first I went for a BANT midrange list (Time, Justice, Primal) but it wasn't proactive enough, there were draws that were useless against some decks and no matter what I did, there times I had influence problems when casting Behemoth. So I eventually decided to stick to mono white and slug it out. This ensured I could cast Behemoth at all times on curve. I would have liked to test with
Mystic Ascendant but I don't have 'em crafted yet. A version with Ascendant would remove
Beckoning Lumen and
Praxis Displacer. Although, Lumen and Displacer has won me some games...
How to play:
For your starting hand, you want to have a threat (
Sandstorm Titan or
Worldbearer Behemoth) and a ramp spell, but always prioritise the threat.
This deck is a tempo deck, you should ALWAYS set the pace of the match. Play your threats early and dont be afraid to put everything on the board
Xenan Obelisk will ensure that even your lowly Temple scribe has some game later on.
Key cards:
There are 4 ramp cards
Initiate of the Sands and
Power Stone so this almost guarantees you can cast your Threats 1 turn ahead.
Ageless Mentor has such a huge potential to blow out the enemy it's not even funny. You will almost always have 2 cards it can buff up, including Amber Monument. Imagine fighting an aggro list when on turn 4 you land a 7/8 Sandstorm Titan...
Frenzied Omnivore - wow I was surprised at how relevant this card was. It is super relevant in aggro decks and in long fights (assuming you have Obelisk in play) it triggers your Dawnwalkers. Remember, in the early game you can discard Dawnwalkers to a Frenzied Omnivore and then revive them back when you cast a 5 toughness creature.
