Diogo Decimation

Throne Deck By

Cost Curve

Although Invoke the Waystones got nerfed to the ground, Diogo didn’t. We also got a new powerful spell in Prodigious Sorcery to keep a previous deck shell functioning (credits to Djwarpt and Sto650). The idea is to get Diogo from the market and give Decimation Destiny. Then you draw and (free) cast it next turn either with Resurface from Garden of Omens or Celestial Omen from the market. Finally, you fetch Prodigious Sorcery from the market and Decimate to draw and (free) cast Decimation for lethal.

This being a combo deck means the aggro matchup can be very tough to win. Lifesteal can present a challenge if the opponent is putting too much pressure / gaining too much health. Since Decimation can’t be negated or blocked by Aegis, we don’t care if the opponent has face aegis and Royal decree isn’t running rampant at the moment so that helps. If needed, you can Excavate the Decimation with Destiny to get up to 50 damage and worse case scenario Re-read it to deal up to 70. Howling Peak Smuggler can help Decimation deal more damage and your units can sometimes get in for some face damage.

The ideal line of play that can lead to a turn 5 or 6 win is (assuming you don’t miss any power drops):
1. (T3) Play Auralian Merchant fetching Diogo.
2. (T4) Play Garden of Omens and Ice Bolt a threatening unit.
3. (T5) Start the next turn with Resurface to get Decimation on top of the deck.
4. (T5) Play Diogo with Amplify.
5. (T6) Play a free spell from Garden and draw Decimation to deal 10 face damage.
6. (T6) On the same turn, play a primal-influence merchant to fetch Prodigious Sorcery from the market.
7. (T6) On the same turn still, you can play Prodigious Sorcery since its cost is reduced by 1 and Decimate it to play Decimation to deal a lethal 20 face damage. If Decimation is the only spell in your void, this still works!

My list with a very consistent winrate if you want to have a look. greets

I like the sounds of a consistent win rate. Thank you for sharing, I’ve built the deck. Now just to decide if I want to craft 4 Zal Chi.
iQuubi Eternal Version: 1.47.4
Zal Chi is a must. You play Celestial Omen on turn end + Zal Chi which instantly gives you 4+4+7=15 damage. Also he is kinda resistent to AOEs like Harsh Rule and the opponent runs out of removals pretty quick. If I survive the game until I play my Celestial Omen I win 99% of the matches. You also can replace the re-read with an Hailstorm if you run into much aggro

That does sound awesome, I think you’ve convinced me to craft Zal Chi and give it a try!

Hi Ba1ance, Diogo combo decks are hella fun but get destroyed by a single royal decree which is quite annoying
bA1ance Eternal Version: 1.47.4
Hey iQuubi, I know the feeling and I agree! I think I’ve been hit by it once or at most twice this season so far which is not too bad at all. If combo decks become a problem, then I agree one should stay far away from Diogo decks. Re-read can also be replaced by Unseal in the market to help address that problem but it’s a bit impractical due to how many merchants / smugglers you would need to play to actually win the game. Not facing Royal decree we need 2 and a Garden or 3 merchants to win and against Royal decree the numbers go to 3 and a Garden or 4 merchants / smugglers and that really slows this deck’s momentum.

yeah at the moment I feel like there aren't too many decrees around so Diogo is definitely worth a try and yes I don't think that re-read is a must in this deck.
iQuubi Eternal Version: 1.47.4
I favor Aid of the Horuu + Zal Chi over this version by the way because otherwise you'll run out of cards pretty quick

Thank you for the feedback!
