So I spent this month working on this. Its current incarnation carried me over the line to masters eventually.
It started as a list of Xenan cards that were all real strong on their own, or ones that really crapped on some strategy or another, again on their own. I spent a lot of time with the power base and attendant support cards so it can play 5 time req. or 6 shadow req. and as close to on time as possible, so
Petition was vital here, and the deck wouldn't really hang together without it and the Symbols to fetch. It does great work since once you get your bases covered it gets cylixes making it the unsung hero and glue of the deck.
The other mana cards are crucial as well, if to lesser degrees. They are all still incredibly important to make this engine of greed function.
Most of the utility is somehow almost entirely tacked onto creatures, although the 2
Grodov's Burden do allow creature and relic removal at 8 power.
So I spent quite a lot of my playtime this month messing about with this, and I've been really pretty happy with how it turned out and how it carried me to masters on the way.
The next thing I would ever do is to consider markets. What market cards I would want and for what matchups. Then what to trim to cram the whole thing into my baby.
I have had a few ideas here and there, but I am only just now getting happy enough with the main idea as a work in progress to be at the point where I'd want to even spend the time working on the entire market concept. But if I do continue working on this next month market experiments will pretty much be where I start.
So if anyone picks this up, I hope you enjoy it, and you can get in touch with me here. On my way through the month I have seen people running similar builds here and there. I think my version here is crammed pretty full on the legends and isn't cheap to craft, but fun enough anyway.
Cheers!
