Information

Alright, here are my hot takes.

Oni can be played 3 ways: aggro, mid, or weapon. As with all deck types your success is determined by your ability to maintain focus on the core structure of the deck. Meaning pick one. I have chosen to go with aggro in Expedition for 4 reasons.

1. Strong selection of low-cost relevant units
2. Fair unit-based tricks/support spells
3. Poor choice of weapons
4. Poor tribal ramp for midrange

A 'go-wide' strategy generally favors all Oni builds and with Expedition seems to be the right choice. In addition, due to poor self protection and lackluster weapon choices, the weapon strategy tends to result in more 2-1 losses than big gains. Don't get me wrong, there are some good weapons, but as a synergistic package I find clogging the board and using tricks works better. And I have beaten weapon Oni decks with my aggro Oni deck; the weapons simply aren't big enough and the 2-1 trade with no card generator is murder.

I've gone 13-2 with this deck. Great build, fun to play

Surprised you cut Quartermaster from the deck. When Jishu and Quartermaster get going it's just disgusting. I've swapped Shiv for it in my build.

Quartermaster is a great pick I’m trying out Cozin.

Cozin has been excellent for me as well. I run 0x Shiv, 4x Cozin, and 4x Quartermaster.
