This was a deck I threw together to test the new promo, "Tamarys, the Geomancer", which was much more fun than I expected.
There are four goals here:
a) Spell damage buffs apply to each part of a spell. E.g. Snow Pelting with a +2 spell damage buff on the board does 4 damage to each target hit. Piercing Shot with the same buff does 8 damage rather than 4. So we've used multi-target spells whenever possible to exploit this. Early iterations also included Grenade + Granite Monument, and we may include that again at some point.
b) Generate additional spells with Crow.
c) Tamarys makes all generated Snowballs, all Crow spells, and Torch free. It's insane when you get to use a buffed Snow Pelting for 0 cost.
d) Iceberg Warchief buffs yeti in addition to spells, and some yeti generate snowballs, so we use some yeti as an aggro component that typically picks up the slack where a longer game waiting on buffed spells might fail. Cinder Yeti is included both as psuedo-draw and because it allows you to bond in Pokpok for free, generating more direct damage via cheap / free snowballs.
This deck is a blast to play. It probably could use some tuning but seems to work just fine for ranking and bo3s.
Pondering switching out the Harrier for the new Smuggler, though I don't like losing the flyer.
Conflagrate seems too expensive for multi hit in this deck (7 mana for two hits.) Burn Them All prices out similarly, but with more damage, and hits any enemy, not just units. It also amplifies more cheaply. I kind of like that.
Gilded Flames seems like a fun idea, as it is more likely to generate the Trove with spell damage increase.
Storm Spiral almost becomes an instant pseudo board wipe, and so might be good in the Black Market.
It's not damage, but a Sudden Schism could cause some interesting sudden power shifts with this creature mix at instant speed. Hmm, I think that I may like that a lot for some deck. On a similar note, the quicksilver mirror might be an interesting market card.
EDIT: I'm looking at all of the new spells above as Black Market cards, not inclusions in the main deck. The low cost multi target spells currently in it work well. Might be tempted by Signal Flare to remove sites, though both Snow Pelting and Rockslide target 'enemy', so this deck is already situated to interact really well with them. :) Hmmm.....
What do you think of adding Light the Fuse to this deck?
