Information

This was a deck I threw together to test the new promo, "Tamarys, the Geomancer", which was much more fun than I expected.

There are four goals here:

a) Spell damage buffs apply to each part of a spell. E.g. Snow Pelting with a +2 spell damage buff on the board does 4 damage to each target hit. Piercing Shot with the same buff does 8 damage rather than 4. So we've used multi-target spells whenever possible to exploit this. Early iterations also included Grenade + Granite Monument, and we may include that again at some point.

b) Generate additional spells with Crow.

c) Tamarys makes all generated Snowballs, all Crow spells, and Torch free. It's insane when you get to use a buffed Snow Pelting for 0 cost.

d) Iceberg Warchief buffs yeti in addition to spells, and some yeti generate snowballs, so we use some yeti as an aggro component that typically picks up the slack where a longer game waiting on buffed spells might fail. Cinder Yeti is included both as psuedo-draw and because it allows you to bond in Pokpok for free, generating more direct damage via cheap / free snowballs.

This deck is a blast to play. It probably could use some tuning but seems to work just fine for ranking and bo3s.

Revisiting this rather fun deck with Defiance, so here are some random thoughts:

Pondering switching out the Harrier for the new Smuggler, though I don't like losing the flyer.

Conflagrate seems too expensive for multi hit in this deck (7 mana for two hits.) Burn Them All prices out similarly, but with more damage, and hits any enemy, not just units. It also amplifies more cheaply. I kind of like that.

Gilded Flames seems like a fun idea, as it is more likely to generate the Trove with spell damage increase.

Storm Spiral almost becomes an instant pseudo board wipe, and so might be good in the Black Market.

It's not damage, but a Sudden Schism could cause some interesting sudden power shifts with this creature mix at instant speed. Hmm, I think that I may like that a lot for some deck. On a similar note, the quicksilver mirror might be an interesting market card.

EDIT: I'm looking at all of the new spells above as Black Market cards, not inclusions in the main deck. The low cost multi target spells currently in it work well. Might be tempted by Signal Flare to remove sites, though both Snow Pelting and Rockslide target 'enemy', so this deck is already situated to interact really well with them. :) Hmmm.....

Hey!

What do you think of adding Light the Fuse to this deck?
Kaelos Eternal Version: 1.39.0.5742
I considered the idea but ultimately decided against because Firebombs placed in your opponent's deck become your opponent's spells, and therefore don't "benefit" from your own + spell damage. If they did, I'd try it in a heartbeat.

Awesome deck! So funnny!

This list absolutely rocks. Cruised through D1 with it in approximately 45 minutes because everyone seemed to think I was skycraggro. :^)

Playing with this more, I've found myself lamenting the amount of depleted power I wind up with. Do you feel that 20 yetis meets the threshold to make running common cause feasible?
Whiskerbro Eternal Version: 1.38
I think you're better off playing a diplomatic seal or two and switching a few waystones for sigils so your seats enter undepleted more often.

Thanks to twitch drops I had the chance to craft some cards needed for the deck, only missing the Crests now. (Thank you Premium Cirso's Cleaver). I have another question: WIth all the Snowball throwing, what do you think of adding some icespears to the mix? Icespear Chuckler seems like a fun addition, not sure what to take out for a 4 drop though.

This deck is fantastic! Even when all the pieces aren't together, there are a lot of different paths to victory here. But when the pieces are together, holy hell is it fun slinging around 5-damage Torches and 3-4 Damage Snowballs for free. Excellent work! I've also been enjoying a more all-in version of a Tamarys "storm" deck someone posted, but this one seems like a much more balanced approach that's probably much better for general play.

What do you think of replacing pok pok with west wind herald to rebuy back spells for more value
Kaelos Edited Eternal Version: 1.38
It's a low-curve deck (power base built appropriately) that already contains six 5-cost units, all of which hold their own in terms of actual swing damage. The benefit of Pokpok (a genuinely terrible unit for basically every other purpose) is that you bond him in completely free and can then use him for additional Snow Pelting damage. Replacing a free unit with a 5-cost unit... seems like an idea that's unlikely to improve the deck's functionality unless you change the power base accordingly. WWH is also typically best when casting or re-casting otherwise expensive spells like Channel, EoH, or Decimate for free because you get the most value from the single opportunity to infiltrate. In short, it might be good in a deck like this which used higher-cost spells and expected a higher-end power curve, but it's probably a net loss-of-value in this particular deck. If you do build a successful deck around some higher-cost spells with Tamarys and WWH, shoot me a link and I'll demo it on stream with credit to you!

Another great deck as always Kaelos! Do you plan on adding more Tamarys as she becomes available? Or are you sticking with 2 of her?
Kaelos Eternal Version: 1.38
I'll certainly try four of her because she's a valuable unit (Flying, Overwhelm with good stats) all on her own. But I expect 2-3 will remain the magic number as far as cost reduction is concerned in this deck, because you only need to find one of her. When I have all four, I'll try her along with Mirror Image in a deck full of more expensive spells and see how consistent we can get the reduction. I look forward to a stupidly low-cost Decimate. ;)
LeoGV Eternal Version: 1.38
Hey man! I kind a new player and I don't have any campaign. What could replace pokpok??
Kaelos Eternal Version: 1.38
You can try Crunch (a rare yeti with more in terms of unit damage) if he's affordable for you, or basically any other yeti to make use of Warchief's buff. If you own him, Kaleb Reborn might also be worth a shot. And, if none of those are available to you, I'd put in a set of Permafrost or Polymorph to give you a bit more time to generate board presence.
MotherGreen Eternal Version: 1.38
Does the same apply for the Cinder Yeti since its a campaign card too? The deck looks really fun!
Kaelos Eternal Version: 1.38
Absolutely. If you still want to go for Snowballs, I might sub in the Jotun Cyclops instead, but if you want to lean more heavily on yet-based damage, Crunch or Wump are probably good choices.
LeoGV Eternal Version: 1.38
thanks!
