Another Severin of the Dark deck, in mono shadow. 9-1 over ten games; will update as games go on.
The
goal is to manage the board in the beginning to middle game, then Surge out a bunch of
Piercing Grief with
Severin of the Dark. This combos with
Prize Sow and
Tasbu, the Forbidden to fill the board, gain a bunch of life and draw a ton of cards. Eventually, the opponent should run out of gas or lose enough life to eat an
At Any Cost for the win.
There are a couple of things I really like about this list:
1. We can actually play
Seal of Devotion and not feel horrible about it. I think it's actively good in the deck because of the work that
Prize Sow and
Shadow Symbol put in.
2. Curving out is consistent. This is mostly because of Rhysta, Acantha's Hearld and
Shadow Etchings grabbing that extra sigil. Speaking of,
Shadow Etchings is better than the Merchant by miles, but it's been worth it to have 2 extra merchant effects for more reach.
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker is mostly for popping aegis and getting some life back; we take a lot of damage from Desecrate.
Karvet, Redeemed is usually the first thing grabbed from the market, as it's proactive and curves well into Severin.
Pay attention to warp! Don't be like me!
Good Luck!
