Are you like me? Do you get frustrated at the bonkers legendary cards your opponents have in Gauntlet and think, "Man, if I had those, I'd crush that smug AI's face." Have you ever wanted to pick off their little creatures one by one while your behemoths stand tall? Do you like winning?
What? You don't? Oh, sorry. Move along. But if that were you, this is what I would say.
The idea of the deck is simple. Use
Secret Pages or
Auralian Merchant or
Display of Vision to ramp into your threats, usually
Azindel, Revealed, though
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker,
Moonstone Vanguard, and
Sandstorm Titan also apply tremendous amounts of pressure. Between
Seek Power,
Display of Vision,
Kerendon Cargo,
Token of Vision, and the various dual powers, influence fixing shouldn't be an issue, even with the TTJJSS requirements.
The JJ is there for five cards,
Grinva, Breaker of Will and four
End of the Story (and technically
Kerendon Contraband). However, this deck can and does win without any J influence, sometimes even without any S influence, but never without T influence.
End of the Story is important both because it can hit through Aegis and for Warp. Being able to dig for one when it's on top rather than waiting to draw it can be lifesaving. Seven merchants might seem heavy, but
Auralian Merchant is a good blocker for aggro and the computer will commonly not attack if a
Kerendon Merchant is there to kill the attacker, even if the attack would be favorable for the computer. Plus, the main point of the deck is to get
Azindel, Revealed onto the field, meaning you need one in your hand, meaning more merchants leads to more opportunities to get him. More often than not, you'll end up pitching lands for the merchants and clearing extra lands is usually fine.
To the Market.
Xenan Obelisk is there in case your Helici get their power reduced, usually by an opposing
Copperhall Bailiff.
Grinva, Breaker of Will is there to let bring your life total back up, keep your opponents' creatures from blocking, and getting through an Aegis so you can use a kill spell on it, and
Passage of Eons is there to help against the fliers.
UPDATE: 1-21-2019
I have updated the list with a few upgrades, notably
Sandstorm Titan.
Give it a go. Let me know in the comments what you think.
