It took me a while and several iterations until I came up with an aggro shell that I was happy with. I started off with trying to make
Guardian of Spring work (which failed). Then I tried a more Weapon and Stranger oriented Rakano deck, but that version lacked the early agression to be able to beat all the FTS Sacrifice, FTJ/TJP Control and the Dragon decks that I'm usually seeing.
I guess it's very clear by now that
Milos, Rebel Bomber is the card that enables this archetype and which pushes it into viability. Maybe one note - be power efficient and play him on 3 over Covetous Stranger or Varret even when that would allow you to draw a card.
A slightly unusual card choice is
Siege Breaker, but this card just keeps on overperforming for me. Quite a lot of non relic decks actually play relics (
Power Stone,
Pillar of Progress,
Spellbound Vestige,
Shrine to Karvet, just to name a few) and he of often gets silenced (e.g. Rectifier, Edict) before he's getting killed. Otherwise the breakthrough is often just as good as flying on this big body. And even if your oppnent gets to draw a Relic this often only matters in the very late game as they usually just try to survive early on.
Another unusual choice is
Savage Denial as a 4 of, but this card just takes soo many people by suprise. It also basically doesn't happen that you don't have valid targets for it, because all the Market Spells and Displays are fast spells (as well as quite a lot of removal spells). I won quite a few games, just because people couldn't play their market spells (e.g.
Blazing Salvo can often kill 2 of your creatures). I also tried
Backlash, but it's just so much more harder to keep 1 vs 2 power open (that's why we have
Unseal in the market).
The stranger package works quite well and there are not much better choices for 1 and 2 drops in expedition currently. Sometimes they are enough to win you game (e.g. transforming Varret or drawing a few cards from
Covetous Stranger. That being said - be aware of
Blightmoth as it can ruin your day.
While
Kazuo, Melee Virtuoso rarely get's pumped with only 6 weapons, his Ultimate has won me a few games and sometimes you just have the nut draw with 2 Kazuo and a
Furyblade.
It takes some practise, but it seems a very viable archetype, which got me into Masters for this season.
big thx for sharing your skyscrag aggro control list.
what budget suggestion would you play instead of Varret, Hero-in-Training ?
would be Temple Shihan a decent replacement ?
are we able to play something that counters Blightmoth like Rain of Frogs or would it be too clunky ?
