All the Deadly Killers

Great budget deck for Gauntlet! For whatever reason the AI refuses to attack into deadly units unless they have the overwhelming tactical advantage.

This deck requires a careful hand when piloting. A good opening hand will have 2-3 power and at least one of the following: Auralian Infestation, Nocturnal Creeper, or Sand Viper.

Turn 1 play Auralian Infestation or a depleted power.

Turn 2 play Nocturnal Creeper or Sand Viper.

Turn 3 is a flexible turn, either play Expedition Leader and Potion of Alacrity to draw cards if you opened with Auralian Infestation; or play Amaran Stinger if they left an opening to land the scorpions to the opponents deck; or play the Auralian Merchant to get a Xenan Obelisk or Predator's Instinct or Sandstorm Scarf as needed; or hold up the power to let the opponent play into a Scorpion Wasp.

Turn 4 is also pretty flexible. Ideally, you'll have a few deadly units in play now and can just play a Xenan Obelisk. You can also play a Venom Rider if you need to establish better board presence. You may need to play or to control troublesome opposing units. Lastly, you may need to play a to fetch a needed piece of removal or to get a Xenan Obelisk or Sandstorm Scarf or even the Striking Snake Formation to use as a limited board wipe next turn.

Turn 5 is all about stabilizing. Play Vital Arcana to get a little life and draw cards, or play Lumen Defender to gain major life and drop a deadly and difficult to manage blocker.

From this point on, you will likely be in a commanding position.

A few points. This is NOT an aggro deck! Sometimes it wins early, but it usually will make it to 8 - 10 power before winning. This is NOT a control deck! There isn't enough removal to really play it as control. This is mostly a tempo deck, if you are careful and patient it pays off. Don't trade early unless you have to, use your life as a resource. This deck has won many games for me from 8 or less life. And finally, HAVE FUN! :D
