Title says it all, this Rakano deck relies on playing Jekk and his pardners who know how to yee haw shooty bang bang in order to blast your opponent's life to 0.
(Expect frequent edits as I finetune this list.)
EDIT: This is probably gonna be my final update to the deck for now, kinda want to unironically play good decks again.
Card Choices:
Eager Deputy: Cheap early game shooty person that fixes your power, which is absolutely a necessity if you want to play your cards on time, especially 3-cost Jekk.
Torch/Sear: Used to fry small units with the power of fire, which is like the power of gun but with less reinforced steel.
Trickshot Ruffian:: Great for making any of your units painful to block. Even though the card no longer gives Lifesteal, this varmint is still great for pushing damage through, which is absolutely what this deck wants. The only downside I can think of to this humble 1 drop is that any unit he buffs is likely to become oneted dead or alive with enough Justice influence.
Icaria, Valkyrie Captain: Contrary to my first statement, Icaria does not bang bang shooty kablammo for a living. However, Icaria still makes it into this deck because she is Jekk's BFF who knows how to fly; not playing this card is like eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the jelly. She is great for blocking small units, pecking your opponent's life total, and ramping into Jekks.
Ironthorn, Lawman: Plunder is great for avoiding power screw and power flood, this is honestly one of the best mechanics DWD has put into a set IMO. You can even Plunder into a Sigil to guarantee that 3-cost Jekk gets Double Damage when you play him on turn 4. Mr. Lawman here is also great for getting enough influence to pay for Jekk, ensuring that your opponent will have a lawful time against this deck.
Jekk, Mercenary Hunter - The main reason to play this deck. He pew pews your opponent's units to death, is an extremely great attacker, and draws you cards. There is a reason why this Jekk sees play in almost every Fire deck that can pay 4 power for a unit, he is bound to give your opponent a hunterrible time if left unchecked.
Whirling Duo - Like Milos, but instead of review bombing your opponent's deck this shooty bang kissy wissy power couple uses the concept of love in order to give you more life. This goes back in because Bulletshaper feels too slow after the nerf.
Milos, Rebel Bomber - Milos is a bomb-astic attacker who sometimes makes your opponent's deck go kablooey if the game goes on long enough. The 2nd ability is also useful since there is a decent amount of incidental lifegain in Throne to come up often;
Ubsat the Savior comes to mind in particular. After some games with this deck, I found that Milo's review bombs did not trigger that often, most of the time he is just a 3/3 with Charge that is fun to play against lifegain effects.
Jekk, Hunted Fugitive: I included this varmint for two reasons:
a) Is Jekk
b) Serves as a decent top end to this deck in the event you haven't boom boomed your opponent's life total to 0 before turn 5/6.
This is probably the best late-game Jekk right now IMHO. The only other Jekk that is in Rakano is
Jekk, the Bounty Hunter, and he is about as useful as that tumbleweed rollin' down Ol' Wyatt's Scrap Shop a block away. The downside to this Jekk is that he does nothing when played, however he turned out to be not that bad against any non-Shadow deck. Even if your opponent does kill Jekk, they now have less removal to deal with your units who are actually good (4-cost Jekk, etc). In any case this is an approximate list of removal that you should try to play around if you ever get to a point in the game where you need to summon Wumbo Sized Jekk.
Fire: lol wut (no one really plays Obliterate/Flame Blast anymore)
Justice: Harsh Rule + similar boardwipes, market Edict of Kodosh
Primal: Ice Bolt, Permafrost, Turn To Seed, market Edict of Linrei
Time: what removal?
Shadow: any "kill a unit" spell
Assuming Wumbo Jekk lives for 1 turn, you can easily turn your board of cowboy compadres into a force to be jekkoned with.
Champion of Glory - This deck needs a 2 drop now that Bulletshaper got nerfed, you can use him to push for damage and wall other weenie aggro decks.
Winchest Merchant - As much as it pains me to use a Merchant that does not have a gun in the artwork, The Barbarian Camp had the right idea with making their entire market consist of Justice cards in the Rakano Surge list they piloted during the last ECQ. Before I had Red Canyon Smuggler simply for style points, but then I realized that most of the time I only went for Edict, Pristine Light, or Deepforged Plate, which are all in Justice. The fact that this smug spider monkey flies is also great for pushing damage through using Ruffian or Plate.
Fire/Justice Symbol - These replace the Emblem of Shavka/Kodosh that were previously in here. Even though depleted power seems counterintuitive in an aggro deck, I found these vital to playing heavy influence cards such as Jekk and Friends on time in place of Bulletshaper.
Crest of Glory - Same reason as above.
Market Choices:
This is a very unpolished work of progress, still looking for Fire or Justice cards that help against Rakano Aggro/Xenan goodstuff. If y'all can think of some, please let me know in the comments.
Edict of Kodosh: Great for killing Fire or Shadow units.
Pristine Light: Kills problematic high power units that are liable to make attacking a pain in the ass. The cool thing about this deck is that most of the units here are less than 4 power, allowing them to stay alive like the Bee Gees while you board wipe your opponent's beefy units.
Deepforged Plate: Despite not being a gun, this weapon is great for turning any of your small gunslingers and/or Jekks into a real men-ace in the hole. Like the pointy ends of this piece of plated armor, gunslingers are known for being sharp-witted. Use this weapon to nee-dole out some old-fashioned justice whenever you attack or block.
Marley, Heroic Marshal : This unit is gunderful for silencing pesky units, kablamming opposing relics, and being a pain to block.
Reweave: - This card lets you embrace your inner game freak and evolve your puny 3-drop gunslingers into swole 3-cost Jekks. Unfortunately you can't attack with the Jekk for 2 turns, so this is pretty much a fringe removal spell in the event you can't get rid of your opponent's stuff with Edict or Pristine Light.
Why did I not include these cards?
Ijin, Walking Armory:
a) Is not a pew pew yippie kai yay unit
b) She uses
swords to fight instead of guns. What is this, medieval Europe?
Valkyrie Enforcer:
Like a complete philistine, this unit uses what appears to be a scythe instead of a gun. However, this unit is incompatible with the deck for other reasons. Mr. Enforcer here silences units, however everyone knows it is proper gunslinger etiquette to exclaim "YEE HAW YIPPIE KAI YAY" as loud as humanly possible whenever one attacks in order to intimidate your foes. At this point, some of you may be questioning why Icaria is included in this deck; the truth is that every other gunslinger only tolerates her at best because Jekk and her are a one true pair.
As a result, Mr. Enforcer did not make the cut in this jekklist sadly.
Sediti, the Killing Steel:
Same reason as above, only he uses a spear instead of a loud projectile weapon.
Some Cards I Tried But Ended Up Taking Out:
Replaced the cards below because they didn't seem to do well in the meta. By all means if these work for you that's great, people say that variety is the spice of life.
Friends in Low Places:
This card is terribad after the nerf, please dont run this spell unless you are friendertained by continually losing.
Bulletshaper: This pardner in theory fixes your influence and allows you to ramp into your Jekks, among other cards. Unfortunately being a 3-cost card kills the nut draw Turn 3 Jekk that was previously possible with this deck, among other power plays. This deck really needs 2-drop shooty pew pew units in order to secure wins, which Bulletshaper is not sadly. If somehow any of y'all make him work though, let me know in the comments.
Varret, Hero-in-Training- At first I thought it was cute to automatically get his Mastery online by using Friends or Trickshot Ruffian. Then I realized that I threw 9600 shiftstone down the drain and that Varett isn't really that much better than Champion of Glory.
Icaria, the Liberator: I thought this vowelkyrie would be excellent for schooling my opponent late game, but turns out she cost too much for this deck to secure flavor wins by attacking using Jekk and her at the same time.
Conclusion:
If you want to win, play that Rakano Surge list that did well in ECQ: Dead or Alive.
If you want to win and have gun with the entire family at the same time, play this deck.
