Hi.
I'm Bettorup. I'm not really a 'constructed player' per se, but I do enjoy jumping in to the meta blindly now and again to build around a card I want to play more of. In this case, that card is
Opum, the Gemblazer. What's not to love about 5 tempo damage on a 5/5 stick with entomb value to boot?
The deck has taken a few turns along the journey from bronze to diamond as I started getting a picture of the meta. Seems like relics are kind of big, which led to the eventual inclusion of
Shatterglass Mage. It's agressive, and it kills annoying relics. I even warped it one time. That was cool.
Anyway, if you like proactive mid-range/tempo based strategies, then I'd suggest giving this list a try. I'm still playing with the numbers on certain cards (especially the balance of removal effects against the seemingly important
Opum's Technique). That said, I will try to add an update down the line.
Fun side note: I did 20 damage with
Detonation Cannon one time. That was kind of cool.
I'm bad at keeping track of stats, but the deck feels about 85 percent or better as far as win rate goes. I'm sure that will drop as I grind up to master in the next couple days.
Getting to play with
Shoal Custodian has been an absolute joy. It's an unfair card, and the tempo generation can almost win by itself in many situations. And who doesn't love activating
Javan, the Steel Crest 2 to 3 times per turn? Well... our opponent, probably.
Last note, I originally played four copies of
Copper Conduit and I wasn't really disapointed, except the times I hit him off of Custodian. Sometimes that was fine, giving me a 'free' 5/5 overwhelm on 8 max power. Otherwise, a 3/3 overwhelm on turn two or 3 isn't the worst and pairs nicely with Opum for big damage swings. I like cards that get better as the game goes along.
Anyway, good luck in all your games! Thanks for reading.
