Proceed with caution! Play at your own peril!
This is my current fun deck in Throne, a take on a
Dichro's Ruin/
Pinnacle of the Reach deck. The game plan is pretty straightforward - control the board, force lots of card draw, and punish the opponent for extra card draw. That said, there's a lot careful decision making required to play this with any success.
Mask of Torment is a secondary win condition, and helps you ramp as you force draws. Credit to
Pinnacle Of Wheeling for adding this to Ruin/Pinnacle combo.
Matchups
Aggro - always mulligan for anti-aggro cards unless if you know your opponent is playing slow. Look for
Dichro's Ruin,
Eremot's Designs,
Display of Vision,
Transpose into market
Malediction, or worst case a 5 cost board wipe with hopefully some justice influence to start.
Hooru Kira - this is potentially a worse matchup than pure aggro, because aegis/counters make it harder for you to control the board efficiently.
Reanimator - you have a lot of great tools against reanimator - including
Adjudicator's Gavel which you can fetch with display, and
Lumen Reclaimer from market. On average this matchup is definitely in your favor.
Control with primal - the scariest card they have against you is
Scourge of Frosthome, and I added
Toll of Warfare to market specifically to deal with that. The backup option is to try to make them discard it from hand with a well timed
Wrath of Caiphus. As long as you can dodge Scourge, this matchup should go in your favor.
TJS control - this can be a little annoying with their plentiful relic removal, so reserve
Turn to Seed for their
Saber-Tooth Prideleader. Otherwise, just play your board wipes efficiently and you should be good.
Miscellaneous - assuming you don't get power/influence screwed/flooded, then just carry on with the normal plan - find and play your relics, control the board efficiently, win.
Mirror - only tip is to use
Transpose to shield your face from damage bursts, and make sure not to take a card from market when doing it.
Display of Vision into
Cobalt Waystone works too if you have the required influence.
Depending on the meta you encounter, definitely feel free to adjust the deck to fit it. Not much aggro? Cut some/all of
Eremot's Designs. Too much aggro? Cut down on 5 cost board wipes and add
Hailstorm.
