This deck is my early take on a unit orinetated, control-ish take on post-Defiance Combrei empower that wants to make use of the new bombs
Pit of Lenekta and
Martyr's Chains both of which are quite capable of closing out a game.
The strategy is to ramp up quickly using
Hojan, Crownbreaker,
Icaria, Valkyrie Captain, and
Tome of Repetition.
While ramping, you can either be trading units against aggro, or playing beatdown if you're against a deck that is light on units. Pull Pit or Martyr's Chains to seal the deal.
-
Tome of Repetition has excellent synergy with Hojan, as it triggers renown and empower, so can lead to a 4 empower triggers in a turn. This gives you either a big damage + life swing, or just a big life buffer
-
Tome of Repetition is also obviously great with Icaria to get her online asap, and the Tome spellcraft effect stacks so if you have one Tome out, and play another, you can play 3
Secret Pages for 6
-
Moonstone Vanguard has been surprisingly good, smoothing out the power in the initial hand. Vanguard is a real threat on the board, while drawing cards, gaining life and beating down.
Some notable exclusions:
Harsh Rule: I haven't noticed the lack of board wipe as the lifegain/early empower units give you enough game to get your fatter units and end-game control artifacts online
Stand Together/Sword of Unity: this deck doesn't have too many concerns with board wipes so long as you're ramping, but this might change if you're in a more control-orientated meta
Also how bout the great parliament for a backup plan? Anyone?
