Hello. It's been a while.
How have you been? Everything okay? I sure hope so.
Disclaimer: I'm not a 'real' throne player. As some of you already know, I mostly play limited, but dabble in constructed here and there when I'm tired of seeing/playing
Barricade Basher. When I do jump over to constructed, I like to play a few games with a stock deck, see what I'm up against and then brew something I think would be effective enough to win a few games while also having fun with explosives. I'm not a great deck builder, but I do enjoy the process. :-)
This deck is certainly fun, but I think it does an okay job winning games too, as it can fairly easily go the aggro, value, or combo route depending on your matchup. I know this archetype has been around a while, but I'm new to it. I'm somewhat of a Throne baby. A baby on a throne if you will. A large man baby pottie training on a little throne toilet.
You get the idea.
Anyway, I'm still learning the subtleties of the deck, but here's what I've learned so far:
The big combo finish potential comes from
Reactor Forge getting us enough power that we're basically dead the following turn, but then we play something like
Grubbot,
Calderan Gunsmith, and
Autotread from market in the same turn, dealing a large amount of damage. With a little luck, you've already gotten some damage in before this point and don't need to combo super hard hard to win. Of course, you need a board to get to that point, something that's not always easy in a world of x/1 hate, but there are plenty of tokens here and plenty of draw to get you more.
Of course, you can also go
The Throne Room route early and hope to get enough pings in to get it online.
Polymorph is pretty much our only interaction, so use it wisely.
The rest of the deck is pretty self explanatory. Play lots of little things and find ways to either gain value or deal damage. I know the deck could use some work, so if you have suggestions, please feel free to post them here.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day.
