Genetor Dovid I is a hyper-focused promo card. He wants Soldier units and spells with Amplify. Usually, cards that are this narrowly designed turn out to be pretty meh, but that hasn't been my experience with this one. There's a lot to be happy about here. He tutors up Amplify spells and Soldiers from the top four cards of your deck, and to boot, he's got a solid body and a ridiculously low cost. His downside isn't even that much of a problem, because there are ways to deal with stunned units that the soldiers archetype really likes.
This deck is a value town beatdown, concentrating on the biggest bang for the buck that expedition soldiers can muster. We've got Dovid,
Auric Record Keeper,
Copperhall Elite, and a pair of
Argo Ironthorns for added utility. In addition, we're also packing
Leyline Tracer, who can get big in a hurry thanks to our compliment of easily-amplified spells. There's
Speed Grafter and
Transpose, whose only job in the early game is to fetch our lone copy of
Bastion Garrison from the market in order to capitalize on our spell base. This turns
Martial Efficiency into a nasty combat trick, and
Frostwave can easily turn the tide of an enemy's attack.
