The general idea was to make a Winchest Control-esque list (specifically based on
ManuS' Winchest Control (ECQ Top 4)) but with primal in place of fire.
Jotun Hurler replaces
Xo of the Endless Hoard -- the body is far worse, and
Snowball is only situationally helpful, but you still get the fate: make a new card trigger, and between 8 smugglers, 4
Strategize, and 4
Honor of Claws, you have plenty of ways to get rid of unwanted hurlers and snowballs
One big upside to being in blue is
Korovyat Palace. Even after its nerfs, it can definitely win games. Worst case scenario, it's a 6 cost
Wisdom of the Elders, and any of my 4+ drops ->
Withstand ->
Sack the City is at least 25 damage if your opponent doesn't interrupt.
Withstand on
Inquisitor Makto is also pretty mean in long games. I'm maindecking three of them instead of sticking 1 in a market partially due to a lack of market room and partially because chaining palaces isn't actually that bad in long games. Sure, double palace early on is pretty meh, but as mentioned, you have 16 ways to get rid of excess cards.
Beyond that, this mostly just plays obvious good units and a bunch of removal. One card I'm specifically skipping is
Permafrost. It's pretty great in general, but it has horrific anti-synergy with
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker -- the permafrosted target is a free sacrifice for the other guy, which turns her into an incredibly underwhelming 3/3 lifesteal for 4.
