This is the first deck that has performed well for me in Flame of Xulta Masters Gauntlet, going 48-1 with boss wins against Company of Exiles, Highly Skilled, Mindless Aggression x2, Defender of the Spire and Power of Progress, and a close loss against Sudden Death which had the play (of course).
Of the new cards, Borderlands Lookout
helps stabilize early against aggro, while sometimes managing to trade 2 for 1 against 3+ faction decks. I'm not 100% sold on the card in this style of midrange deck but it pulled its weight in enough matchups that I'll keep it.
has been incredible in terms of adding card advantage, removal and tempo to the deck. The only question is whether to run 4 main or 3 main, 1 market.
Ila & Mizo
has been a welcome addition to the deck. Endurance is such a powerful keyword in gauntlet, and it plays very well with killer (the new copy from Mastery gets it). I'm fairly comfortable with the 2/1 split. I wouldn't cut copies of Cirso under any circumstances (except lack of shift stone as a new player).
I think the market could use more work. I'm confident in Xenan Initiation, Elysian Banner, and Cirso's Choice (wipes tokens or Pigs that try to mass block Cirso). Ila & Mizo has been a decent threat out of the Market. Mystic Ascendant I only pulled once in 35 games so that should likely be swapped for something else (Carnosaur, Accelerated Evolution are possible.)
The power base feels about right, it's possible we could cut 1 Time sigil and still curve out a high enough percentage, but removal on our +1 maximum power units can hurt our gameplan and having 27 actual power with 12 sigils helps hit undepleted seats.
