Information

This is a brew I've been working on that is a lot of fun to play and punishes many of the control decks currently running rampant on ladder. The deck is focused on two things: create card advantage through tempo and own the board. We accomplish this in a number of ways:
1. 8x Aegis creatures and 2x Protects, rendering Harsh Rule almost useless and making removal very difficult for Feln/Xenan control decks.
2. Creatures that create card advantage, especially via attacking (Spire Chaplain, Torgov, Feast Caller). We use Eye of Winter to create attacking lanes that let us spiral our card advantage into an winnable situation for our OP.
3. Disruption, in the form of Unseal, Rain of Frogs, and Protect. Unseal and Protect are tempo plays while Rain of Frogs has lots of juicy targets in the current meta that can ruin a deck's entire gameplan (Icaria, Gearcruncher, Channel the Tempest, etc)
4. Effective aggro counter measures by way of 4x lightning storm (our creatures are all 3+ toughness), 4x permafrost, a couple Yetipults to pop bubbles and hit 1 toughness dorks, solid blockers, and Throne Warden to stabilize our health.

Weaknesses:
1. Creatures with strong abilities (Siraf especially, but others too). We run no silences and have very few hard removal options.
2. SST/Endurance Creatures. With 4x Permafrost and 4x Eye of Winter, we can end up with a lot of dead cards whenever the OP plays endurance creatures. If they play T power, hoard your Vanquish for SST or you may be in big trouble.

Future decisions:
1. Is Spire Chaplain good enough? Sometimes I love her, sometimes not. Probably just better to run Valkyrie Enforcer, but this deck does like to have power for Eye of Winter and we run 6x transform lands.
2. Is the removal suite correct? Not a ton of options in J/P, especially since we don't run Harsh Rule. Eilyns Choice/Lightning Strike is available but this deck wants to play creature and be aggressive, not hold up power. Dragonbreath is also instresting.
3. Is Nostrix good enough? I added him because I found that board stalls can end with our creatures getting outclassed, and he fixed that problem quickly. However, sometimes you don't want to play him at all as the mentor ability is a tempo no-go. Eilyn, Clanmother is a consideration, as are Thunderstrike Dragon and Jarrall Iceheart,
4. Weapons are hard to answer, but our creatures are often just bigger. Lightning Strike may help.

Thanks for reading.
