This decklist was largely inspired by Nishiva's very successful version of the deck (found here :
Rakano's weapons are outmatched!)
While I really liked his deck, my main gripe with it was that I tended to get flooded quite a bit and sometimes got awkward draws with too many weapons.
Adding
Winchest Merchant to the deck was the logical step to me. While understated, an additional evasive body to carry a weapon that simultaneously smothes your draws and gives you access to matchup-specific cards is a welcome addition to even an aggressive deck in my mind.
As for the market cards:
Sword of Unity is the best card in the deck, so having additional copies of it increases consistency.
Combrei Banner can make up for power-light draws and fixes both colours.
Vanquish is absolutely needed against time-based midrange decks. I'd consider these slots to be basically set in stone.
My fourth market card I wanted to be an additional unit. Originally I had Knight-Chancellor Siraf here, but found that I'd rarely pull it even when I needed a unit - the deck is not designed to reach 8 mana naturally and if the game goes long it's likely the opponent has an easy way of removing Siraf before you get to activate her. Instead, I turned to
Sheriff Marley as a hard-to-kill card that still helps in long match-ups by providing more Aegis units. (Other options for this slot could be Geomar, Amilli or Ironfist Chancellor, for instance).
My final market card I wanted to be a high-impact combat trick that could provide me enough damage to finish the game. Most people might have expected a Stand Together here, but that doesn't tick the "huge damage" box and kind of serves the same purpose as the sword.
Victor's Cry adds 5 (sometimes 10) damage, making it an alternative (sometimes better) finisher to Sword of Unity.
