Deck built around spell damages. Wanna see the biggest
Snowball of your life? :)
Work in progress: The deck already does the coffee like this, however I didn't explore all cards. So feel free to suggest!
How to play it
Beginning hand: if you have powers to play your hand, you can go with it.
At each turn, begin to see how to remove disturbing things with your hand. If doubt on something, remove it.
Only when this is done, play what you want to.
Replacing cards
Ruinous Rift (Separate Ways) can be replaced by
Fire Sigil.
Windswept Rift (Separate Ways) can be replaced by
Primal Sigil, or any red+blue power.
These cards are not mandatory for the deck. However, extra
Snowball and
Ruin do sometimes the coffee.
Icy Scrying (Community bundle) can be replaced by
Strategize.
The replacement does almost no impact on the deck.
Some nice tips:
Nice beginning hand is when you have many powers in your hand.
There are some drawing cards permitting to keep an interesting hand, but it's easy to want to discard / remove powers in trade of...
About powers, the deck asks 2 blues, and the maximum in reds (due to
Shavkan Dogma, doing coffee even in mid-game).
The priority stays about directly having powers to cast. But if you don't need the extra power in a turn, try to play "depleted" (mainly the extra-red of
Mark of the Den).
To conclude on this part, keep
Ruinous Rift and
Windswept Rift as last powers from your hand (to keep Spellcraft effect available).
The deck hides many efficient cards against 1 specific deck type. When the enemy deck type is recognized, do not hesitate to go collecting this efficient card!
To list them:
-
Backlash (market) against combo decks + 1-spell killing player
-
Cleave (market) against relic decks + control decks (what I choose the most)
-
Ice Bolt (market) against mono-big-unit decks
-
Shavkan Dogma against all Bolster and earning-life deck (to get it, draw cards at maximum: it arrives quickly.)
(WIP: x4? Because having it x2 frequently closes the game in 1-2 turns for the enemy)
8 cards permits to get back spell damages from void.
Use the Decimate effect of
Prodigious Sorcery whenever you can (closing frequently the game, or cleaning the board then closing the game some turns after).
Downdark Scrounger is interesting to play without Summon effect only while you can attack with (at turns 2 or 3). Otherwise and/or if doubt, it's better to keep in hand.
Always proc the onslaught effect from
Lethrai Soothsayer +
Innate Conviction.
Don't play too quickly your turn: Warp effect from
Innate Conviction +
Premonition Bolts can appear (due to drawing or
Lethrai Soothsayer onslaught effect)...
Always proc the contract of
Torq, Ballistics Crafter for an extra
Snowball, and the discard effect next turn for
Rocket Sled. The
Snowball is frequently 3x its size, when you want to use it.
