Description
This is the second version of my Praxis gauntlet deck
With the first version (found
here I ended up losing 5% of the games due to bad draws. This was usually a redraw with 4-5 non-power cards that costs four or more and once I started playing these I was to far behind. On the other hand, in most other cases I won with a commanding presence on the board and most of the times my six power cards where just win-more. The same thing happened with some of the Combrei lists I tried. I started experimenting with a list with smoother draws topping of at about 5. This is the latest version and with it, I have achived masters in the gauntlet for the latest set "Fall of Argenport" without much problem.
Cards
Some of the less obvious choices
Tripwire Grenadin
This card does a ton of work. Alot of gauntlet decks runs X/1, especially the aggro decks.
Reliquary Raider
Excellent against aggro.
Turn 1: Initiate of the Sand.
Turn 2:Reliquary Radier
Is one of the best openings against alot of the Gauntlet decks
Auralian Merchant
Ramp, block and prevents flooding by replacing one of your power against a real card.
The market still requires some work though.
Known issues
Crimson Firemaw v.s.
Sandstorm Titan: These two sometimes get in each other ways.
Weak against swipers, gauntlet decks with sweepers:
The Great Armory (
Harsh Rule)
Revange deck (
Harsh Rule)
