Intro
Hi guys, I'm Meventh and that's the first deck I post on this site.
I would like to show you the last iteration of my Skycrag Control deck I made a lot of time ago (and tweaked ever since). Why now? Because of our new cool tool
Messenger Hawk in combo with
Static Bolt. This deck used to be a pile of removal plus
Channel the Tempest. Now it feels different, somehow weird and unique. I came up with this interaction by myself but I have to say that sifar has the same combination in his deck (
Shocking).
Disclaimer
I do not think this deck is particularly good. I think it can have the right tools to fight the metagame without getting 100% destroyed. Winning is a complete different story. As I said it's a different and unique control deck and I hope you'll find it funny and fresh.
The Deck
I use Hawk & Bolt concept in a control shell with a lot of removals, interaction and card draw.
Pro:
1) Not creature-based. A lot of dead cards in the enemy hand.
2) Has inevitability. Our deck cannot end and our Bolts will keep growing.
3) Has a huge toolbox to deal with various different situations.
Con:
1) Aegis is our enemy.
2) Lack of big AoE removals (e.g.
Harsh Rule)
3) Need a lot of time to win.
Some comments on specific cards
Kaleb's Choice: It's so versatile. I think that's one good reason to play R over other colors. Helping vs Temporal, Teacher, Channel, Obelisk ecc.
Rockslide: Versatility is huge. This thing shines vs Aggro, killing stuff & popping aegis.
Polymorph: Some cards are out of reach. Yes, we have
Permafrost but it's risky (e.g.
Infinite Hourglass from the market). Poly is our answer and it somehow interacts with graveyard too.
It's probably a bug but the last time I tried, it created 4 different Bolts with 3, 4, 5 and 6 damage each.
