went 15-5 with this list in masters so i thought i'd share
(low masters mind you, climbed from 1800-1000)
ideal curve:
t1: scout
t2: scout +
Seek Power /
Trail Maker
t3:
Auralian Merchant for most likely
Xenan Banner
t4:
Jennev Merchant for most likely
Horde Plunderer (assuming you don't have one already)
t5:
Horde Plunderer +
Shield Bash (or something any of the other 2 or lower spellequips)
other tips:
※ the deck can (and usually does) play from behind, your goal is to capitalize with big tempo spellcraft plays.
※ don't be afraid to play a non-spellcrafted
Sandglass Parma on an
Borderlands Waykeeper to ramp you into
Answer the Call range
※
Trail Maker will usually fix for your second J influence since
Auralian Merchant can fix S+T
※ try to sandbag your
Horde Plunderer's until you can spellcraft on the same turn, or jam them if you have multiples and hope for it to stick.
※ don't forget that
Sword of Unity has lifesteal, it will be critical for survival in some match-ups
fairs well against:
removal_pile.dek, midrange?
loses to:
Hooru Pacifier, praxis tokens, fast aggro, decks without units, deadly killers
potential changes:
-2
Seek Power, +2
Hailstorm (i don't want to increase the spell count any further. this current ratio of creatures to equipment is important for Answer the Call)
-2
Peacekeeper's Helm, +2
Vanquisher's Blade (but unlikely as it feels pretty difficult to secure double J by turn 5)
changelog/former iterations:
※ i used to run 4x
Jotun Feast-Caller, but it was far too difficult to secure 3P influence with consistency
※ i used to run 4x
Teacher of Humility, but cut for influence constraints
※
Ironfist Chancellor sounds cool in theory, but you almost never want to be playing equipment on non-aegis'd guys and hoping to hit it on an
Answer the Call is too memetic
will update with more commentary as it comes to me
