This is a Stonescar Rally Queen deck. The only aim of this deck is to go face. Keep going face until the game no longer permits you to.
Deck Tech
There are two cards in the maindeck that can go to a location that is not face. These two cards are
Torch and
Flame Blast. However, they will also go face very often.
Do not play around
Hailstorm. This card does not exist. If you play around it, you will fall too far behind to catch up. Your best course of action against
Hailstorm decks is to hope that they do not draw it. The only way you should play around Hailstorm is by cashing in with a
Rally on a wide board the turn before Hailstorm rather than developing further onto the board. That is okay because it goes face.
Playing around
Harsh Rule or
Howling Peak Smuggler into
Torrential Downpour is fine. You can usually afford to play around it a little bit. But do not forget the primary goal of this deck, which is to go face as much as possible.
As a general rule of thumb, if you can push 6 damage with
Rally, it is a good Rally. Do not hesitate to use it aggressively. The longer you wait, the more your unit count will dwindle as your opponents play sweepers and spot removal.
Market Guide
Bandit Queen is to help you curve into a Queen on 4 more consistently.
Mindfire helps you push for lethal damage.
Obliterate helps you burn for lethal damage.
Kaleb's Persuader is a last ditch option if your opponent has cleared your board but is at too high a health total to die to Obliterate. In such a case, your only out might be to put Persuader on the Ixtun Merchant and hope that they do not have an answer.
Jawbone Greatsword is great against control decks. For instance, you can swing with a board on turn 4, then play Jawbone Greatsword and dome them for 5 more damage. If they play Harsh Rule, they will eat another 5 from the Greatsword, you refill your board, and then they have to contend with Greatsword and a board again. It can also trigger Pyromancer's onslaught, which is great for helping Pyromancer refill from an empty board, as well as act as emergency spot removal against walls.
Mulligan Guide
AhornDelfin (who is a great aggro player) once wrote a mulligan guide for Stonescar Aggro to the extent that you should mulligan anything without a 1 and 2 drop, undepleted power to play them, and Fire and Shadow influence. I'm in agreement with that assessment for a mull to 7. Mulling to 6 is tougher - I would generally keep hands with 2 drops but no 1 drops over mulling to 6, but I would not keep hands with uncastable power or influence issues unless all the cards in my hand were of the correct influence (eg. I'm screwed on S influence but everything in my hand is F). I would not ever keep a hand that had no play until turn 3, even over mulling to 6, because this deck is really bad if it can't get on the board early.
FAQ
Why aren't you playing Crooked Alleyguide who is a gay icon? Crooked Alleyguide is too slow for the deck. It does not go face fast enough. It was a difficult thing to cut her, but I had to do it for the greater good.
Why aren't you playing Shakedown? Shakedown does not go face.
Why aren't you playing Rapid Shot? Because Defiance is too powerful against Rapid Shot.
Why aren't you playing Champion of Chaos? Because Champion of Chaos makes the deck's curve too high compared to what it is trying to accomplish. Also, it turns on their Vanquishes and Pristine Lights.
