A Gothic Night

This is a Xenan Nightfall deck with a bit of a theme that I enjoy playing simply because of Shadowlands Tyrant.

The idea of the deck is to have Nightfall persist throughout the game without having to play Encroaching Darkness while maintaining board presence and your Life total. Lunar Magus is perfect for such a strategy. Xenan Obelisk buffs your Bats summoned by Colony Matron making her a serious threat, especially if you have more than one Matron in play. Xenan Initiation is there mainly to be cast on Nocturnal Creeper, but especially on Shadowlands Tyrant to simultaneously eliminate two threats at once, or to break an Aegis. Duskwalker helps if you aren't drawing Sigils, and to be more productive in a turn. Resurrect your fallen creatures with Dark Return and Vara, Fate-Touched. and if she herself falls, cast Grasping at Shadows to summon her and possibly an additional Shadow creature. Cover of Darkness is there to bypass your opponent's defences and push for damage. It may also be used as a finisher, which I love when I get the chance, or a simple pass of the turn and a Nightfall tick.
