No legendaries, and only uses the most recent campaigns (Whispers of the Throne and Shadow of the Spire). This deck is also expedition (#12) legal, but I haven't actually tested it there yet. In masters gauntlet, my only losses are due to issues with drawing power or some absurd AI draws. Games played are usually fairly fast, and are always fun.
The key idea here is to amass a ton of justice influence. These are the thresholds to keep in mind:
3J - required for
Ironthorn, Lawman, and having him in play allows you to gain influence even faster.
5J - required for
Telut, The Iron Gate, who pretty much melts down enemy units. Also buffs your weapon if you have one.
also 5J - required for
Silverblade Intrusion to create valkyries when played.
6J - activates
Ijin, Walking Armory, and you'll get a free +4/+4 weapon on your first unit each turn. Note that if you reach 6J before playing an Ijin and Ijin is the first unit played that turn, Ijin will buff herself. Multiple Ijins means multiple buffs.
XJ -
Trickshot Ruffian can make good use of every single justice influence you have, so the more the merrier.
Ways to gain influence (especially justice), aside from power cards of course:
Badge of Honor - gains justice influence whenever wielder attacks.
Ironthorn, Lawman - gain additional influence whenever you gain influence. Yes please.
Ijin, Walking Armory - gain justice influence whenever she attacks.
Other useful cards included:
Flameheart Patroller - makes great use of all that influence you're gaining all the time, pairs very well with
Badge of Honor, and can be just enough of a threat to force enemy to trade either units or removal with it instead of saving them for your bigger threats
Milos, Rebel Bomber - counters lifesteal, has overwhelm (perfect for Ruffians), and again is enough of a threat to force trades.
Hammer of Glory - great way to cash in on Telut's other surge ability.
Ways to make this deck even cheaper:
Jadehorn - most useful in this deck when you need to pledge him. Can be replaced with another 2 or 3 cost unit (some ideas:
Crownwatch Paladin,
Chainwhip Bludgeoner,
Kodosh Evangel)
Hammer of Glory - nice but can be replaced with another relic weapon.
None of the market cards are central to this deck working, so feel free to experiment there or leave out the market altogether.
Rakano Cylix - if you don't care about this deck being expedition (#12) legal too, then
Rakano Insignia is fine too.
Silverblade Intrusion - replace with another combat trick if you don't have Shadow of the Spire
Milos, Rebel Bomber - replace with another overwhelm unit if you don't have Whispers of the Throne
This is worth testing.
(+1/+1 for each J influence)
As a finisher, Ruffian is a little better. As a general buff, it feels like a win more card.
