04/07/2020: Big update to the deck. Did a lot more testing and changed a lot of cards around. You don't need all 4 ironthorns, 3 should do, same with press gang. 4x Slay and 4x Defiance go a big way in helping this deck survive early aggro pushes allows you to kill bigger units too. I've found the symbols to be largely bad in this deck and so have replaced them with more dual powers. I actually prefer seats to the crests because crests are always undepleted. This new refined deck has performed very well for me vs popular decks such as Xenan and Hooru and I'm about 50:50 with those damn stonescar decks. Overall I'm still enjoying this deck and suggest you give it a try.

A new deck I've been trying based around Severin of the Dark. Is it good? Well, I'm not sure yet it's very much a work in progress. Is it fun? HELL YES, this is the most fun I've had in eternal for a while.

Essentially the idea is to generate big boards of Piercing Grief using Severin. This is helped by key cards such as Ironthorn, Lawman, Prize Sow and Bulletshaper. The rest of the deck is a pretty normal FJS deck

Some card choices:
- Prize Sow: Amazing Combo with Severin. When your piercing griefs die at the end of your turn, you'll immediately generate new ones. That being said, don't be afraid to throw one out early for some health gain vs aggro, it can be quite helpful.
- Ironthorn, Lawman: Really great card for this deck, the Surge ability makes it way easier to meet the requirements for stuff like Icaria, the Liberator or Jekk, Mercenary Hunter, plus it means you generate even more griefs with Severin. If you have a Severin, a Prize Sow and this on board, you generate 2 Piercing Grief every time something dies on board. Also Plunder can help you with mana screw or making sure you have a sigil to enable things like Severin and Jekk, plus it can help with flood by turning excess power into more card draw.
- Bulletshaper: This card has everything you want in a 2 drop for this deck: Influence gain to activate surge and make it easier to play Jekk/Icaria, plus the ability to cheat out your big threats early? Amazing card for this deck, it's the glue that keeps everything together. Craft this before Ironthorn.

I'd say these three are the most important cards you want for this deck other than the main man himself, so prioritise these first. Now for some other choices:

- Beseech the Throne: I cannot stress enough how good this card is for this deck. Helps with mana screw/flood, enabling your surge abilities and it draws a card. I would pick this over Quarry honestly, its got so much versatility in this deck.
- Crownwatch Press-Gang: basically just there to draw your Prize Sow, you could probably get rid of it for more draw but I like it
- Jekk, Mercenary Hunter and Icaria, the Liberator: Good cards are good. These are basically your backup plan if you arent drawing into severin. Icaria has won me multiple games as a reliable finisher.

Market choices are pretty standard: Adjudicator's Gavel will help a lot vs spell heavy decks that like to redraw the same cards from their void. Marley, Heroic Marshal is great for relic removal and synergises with your surge enablers. Harsh Rule is just good, end of. Regent's Tomb is is a very versatile card, providing power fixing or Sabotage if you need it. Hammer of Glory is something i picked because I dont have the campaign so I can't use Stormhalt Knife, but it has been helpful nonetheless, even the site hitting ability because no one really expects it.

There are definitely some Budget options for this deck too:
- Kodosh Evangel, Shavka Evangel and Makkar Evangel can be used as cheap ways to get influence if you haven't managed to get Bulletshaper yet
- Icaria, the Liberator can be replaced by another big unit of your choice. An interesting option is Murky Tentaclesis which will return to your hand from the void when a Piercing Grief with destiny comes into play (and trust me you get a lot of those)
- Marley, Heroic Marshal could be replaced with something like Burglarize or Bore (although you'd need to change up your merchants in that case)
- Jekk, Mercenary Hunter is a hard card to replace, he just does too much for his cost (nerf when DWD?) but I did run Blightmoth in its place for a while which was decent, though I'd recommend switching to Devour from Beseech the Throne then. You could also just run some burn like Sear
- Reclaim can be used instead of Regent's Tomb, and I did run it for a while before giving in and crafting a tomb, it's still pretty good but less versatile.

You are weak to fast aggro, but recover quite quickly if they dont manage to kill you early. Also, the ever-bullshhit Turn to Seed can mess up your gameplan pretty hard

Overall, give this deck a try! Let me know how you did with it and what improvements you think could be made
