This is an extremely explosive empower deck that takes advantage of the current slow, value-oriented meta to try to win before they get set up. The core of the deck is
Tavia, Lethrai Raidleader buffing up
Direwood Slasher and
Territorial Elf for massive berserk attacks. Empower units punch above their weight class on attack and
Hojan, Crownbreaker,
Rhysta, Acantha's Herald and
Siraf's Beacon can help you trigger it every turn. Hands that curve 1 drop into 2 drop into 3 drop will generally kill on turn 4 or 5 if left unopposed, as long as you can play sigils every turn.
The downside is that this deck is extremely fragile.
Hailstorm kills every unit in the deck and even
Torrential Downpour kills more than half. Luckily, board wipes are more-or-less dead cards against FJS so no one plays them. Most of the units either don't block well or can't block at all, so my advice is: don't block unless you're about to lose. You need a critical mass for really big swing turns and trading or chumping will often set you too far behind to recover.
Removal-
Argenport has some of the best removal options around but this deck only has space for a few reactive cards so I tried to pick the most general.
Slay of course hits everything and
Vanquish clears out
Vara, Vengeance-Seekers and other big blockers.
Auric Runehammer helps against the smaller stuff, like smugglers, and should be used proactively if you're worried about a
Harsh Rule.
Other classic options to consider include
Suffocate,
Annihilate,
Avigraft and
Valkyrie Enforcer. I wouldn't recommend the 4-5 mana options since they're a bit too slow.
Market Cards-
Regent's Tomb: Generally the first card I grab from the market.
Sabotage helps protect you from board wipes,
Mauls and removal,
Lingering Influence lets you trigger empower and
Elias, the Broken Wing tends to win games. The empower trigger on the tomb itself is icing on the cake. It may actually be correct to run 3-4 of these maindeck but I don't have the shiftstone to test it right now.
Secret Passage: Helps push through the last few points of damage against an otherwise stabilized board. Remember that you can activate it the same turn you play it to give 2 units unblockable.
Avigraft: Not much to say here, good removal is good.
Crownwatch Standard: Can be used to trigger empower early or turn races around late.
Marshal Ironthorn: Doubles empower triggers. Probably not the correct choice since the 5/5 body gets outclassed quickly these days and gives opponents a target for otherwise dead
Vanquishs but I'm not sure what should replace it.
Telut, Queen's Hand would fill a similar role, and is weak against similar things.
Last Chance: Currently testing this, haven't actually cast it yet.
