Greetings,
Here's a deck that I've been having tons of fun playing. I really wanted to make a stranger deck....and after many iterations involving different faction combinations....I settled on this one. It's pretty straightforward. You stall the game with removal while ramping so that you can play the heavy hitters to finish off the opponent. Let me point out a few things real quick:
- Riva and Firemaw could probably be traded out for something else, so you might consider these flexible spots. I really like them b/c 1) they can help ramp and play more expensive cards sooner, 2)they act as a good stranger if you use
Stranger's Mark from
Traver's Farm, and 3) they are both immediate threats that need to be dealt with, possibly making your opponent waste removal rather than using them on more important units (your strangers).
- You might toss in another copy or 2 of
Strange Gladiator. Maybe remove Riva or Firemaw. I never really seem to need more, but his effect is really useful. You have plenty of chances to draw it from you deck so that 1 is usually plenty. You might even stick it in your market in place of maybe Kairos. Speaking of the market.....
- For the market, I almost always pull Burden for the obvious reasons. Kairos is often overkill, but he is great in long matches. Hourglass is for stun decks or permafrost. Also, between the scarf and wasp....flying units aren't usually a problem. If you find you keep losing to flying units, toss in another wasp.
-
Torch and
Fevered Dispute are generally my go to removal for praxis. I like Dispute for the flexibility. I'm open to better options if anyone has suggestions. Between those 2, wasp, and alchemist, removal seems fairly tight in this deck.
All in all, the deck is flexible enough to make some tweaks here and there for improvement. It's been doing really well in both gauntlet and in casual play.
Grodov's Stranger pretty much trivializes hunt decks, a mechanic that I absolutely despise. And since the gauntlet might throw up to 3 decks at you with hunt per attempt, he really helps save gauntlet runs.
Anyways, it's a fun casual deck. If you use it, enjoy!
