Dangerous Research event 27-8

I wanted to share the Cimbrei list I am currently using for the Dangerous Research event. I am currently 27-8 through 5 runs: 4-3, 5-2, 4-3, 7-0, 7-0.

This deck takes advantage of the event being creature based and leveraging combat skills, while leaning hard into silence effects to combat the opponent.

Card choices:

Ghar, Master Sandmage: He's cheap, his shift will just completely wreck opponents and will randomly slowdown opponents from developing their board.

Ghoastblade Outcast: Three skills in this event at 1 cost make him the best Hero of the People enabler. Plus the extra value of the exalted weapon with those skills is bonus.

Amaran Armadillo: Cheap way to pump team by adding endurance. Not an MVP, but a solid role player.

Crownwatch Paladin: Another cheap way to add three battle skills to Hero of the People. Warcry helps to go over the top of opponents in the later game.

Intrepid Longhorn: Best value beater at 2 power, plus will sometimes ramp.

Trail Maker: There is not a lot of options for fixing and ramp in this expedition format. This card does both. Being a unit plays into the strengths of the event.

Amber Acolyte: Just a 1 of. Wanted an additional source to get power that was unit based. It's too low impact to justify more copies. Maybe I'll get lucky and it gets deadly.

Hero of the People: Of course the most busted card for this event. Be smart playing her, since opponents will kill on site.

Pearl Abbey Smuggler: The only choice to access the market for this faction, otherwise low impact for the cost.

Steward of Prophecy: Amazing way to shut down opponent's gamelan while advancing ours. 4 power cost limits its effectiveness a little bit. Why is only a 3-of.

Thrashing Dune Wurm: Another way to boost our team to go over the top of the opponent plus it's unit based removal. Amplify does cost a bit, but if you can chain exalted units, it's game over.

Predatory Carnosaur: Big boy that kills things. This is not a hardcore ramp deck, so can't justify more copies. Started with 3, but cut to 2 when they kept getting stuck in hand.

Edict of Kodosh: It's a silence effect that just sometimes outright kills or opponents best creature. Not a unit, so it's effectiveness is limited.

Draw Strength: Since this is a unit based event, the board will usually be stalled and have several units on the opponents side. Amazing at 1 cost to win the board stall. Be careful with Decimate, use only if you can afford to without crippling yourself.

Porcelain Mask: It helps slow the opponents gameplan, helps the team win boardstalls, gives Hero an additional battle skill. 1 of since its not a unit.

Xulta Foil: Shuts down whatever unit you need to stop on the opponents side. Guides a decent start boost for your unit, and leaves a body behind.

Emblem of Grodov: Choose this emblem instead of Emblem of Kodosh because this will give value 2 times with exalted unit.

Market:

Adjudicator's Gavel: Some people like to play Shadow and bring stuff out of the graveyard. No thank you.

Infinite Hourglass: Instabuff to team if you have Armadillo. Allows to push the offensive while playing defense.

Wurm Calling: Sometime you just need some big dudes to brawl.

Shen-Ra Speaks: Sweeper of choice for this expedition format. Sometimes your opponent gets out in front and we just need to reset.

Challenge by Law : Helps win the board stall when you like your own guys and don't want to reset with Shen-Ra Speaks.
