I would say that my experience with this format is still a bit mixed - sometimes I have a good deck, sometimes I scrub out. Still, things do seem to be getting better as I play it more. This deck ended up being quite strong, so hoping I can keep that up - the fact that the signals were so clear meant it was pretty easy to build.
P1P1
Field Medic out of an otherwise unexciting pack, into P2
Cabal Embezzler out of another weak pack. P3 and P4 I picked up 2x
Kickflip Monk - there was a
Curfew Patrol in P3 I was tempted by, but I decided to try to avoid picking up another faction so early. I did note that there were a few decent Primal cards in those packs (
Chloric Mix,
Trick Throw), but not strong enough to take over Kickflip Monk. I was rewarded in P5 with a
Curiox's Hunt from a pack missing Justice, which was a pretty strong signal that Elysian was open.
From there, picks were pretty straightforward - Time and Primal were both pretty open, and I saw some strong rares (
Reliquary Raider,
Tomb Protector,
Ice Bolt). Piloting the deck also felt quite smooth - all the inscribe meant I never ran into power issues. Throw in some removal, a good curve, and a bunch of evasion, and you have the makings of a 7-0 deck.
Highlight:
Reliquary Raider ->
Pteriax Mount = draw all the cards!
MVP:
Kickflip Monk. I actually had a third one I wasn't running, since two felt like enough, but they were great for stalling out games while I beat down with flyers.
