This is an aggressive Midrange deck that feels very consistent with reasonably fast gameplay. Curving
Sheriff Marley into
Deepforged Plate is really tough for the AI to deal with. And if you need to race,
Righteous Fury pulls some serious weight. It got the nod over
Hammer of Might just barely, and mostly to add more spells for
Rizahn, Greatbow Master
A notable exclusion is
Vanquisher's Blade. We want to be playing a
Deepforged Plate or
Amilli, Cloudmarshal on turn five, and we really need the efficiency of
Vanquish to be able to keep applying pressure while curving out. I tested blade from two to four copies, adjusting Vanquish down. It's possible that one Blade could replace one Vanquish, but this configuration felt the best.
Jawbone Greatsword out of the market is for dealing with annoying Aegis Threats (Silverwing Familiar, even Icaria)
Zuberi, Outlands Warlord is our grindy four drop, and performed slightly better than
Crimson Firemaw
(both of these cards should be low on craft priority for budget players, but are the best performers overall if you have the Shiftstone)
The remaining market cards are the 4th Plate, 3rd Rizahn, and a Fire Sigil. I found the Sigil was a bit better than a Banner as it guarantees a four drop next turn even if your Merchant gets torched and you had no other units.
We run
Ixtun Merchant because being able to block one drops and many two drops is more important than the arguably slightly better options
Winchest Merchant offers.
Results so far:
7 wins, Company of Exiles
6 wins, Power of Progress (Ironthorn + double Mystic Ascendant)
7 wins, Limitless Possibilities
4 win, stuck on two power for the first six turns with two Unseen Commando in hand - may have been a questionable opening hand keep but I had a Crest to Scout for power. Also, nut draw from the AI's Hooru Fliers.
7 wins, Defender of the Spire
Most importantly, the deck feels really solid.
Let me know how it goes for you, good luck!
