A week ago I posted an Argenport decklist, including merchants. Now, as this week comes to a close, I am of the opinion the merchants, powerful as they are, are not what Argenport Midrange wants. The justice and shadow merchants are both understatted and low tempo plays. Which goes against the decks gameplan. This version includes more aegis units to deal with the removal pile decks, a full stock of vanquisher blades to battle time and 12 two drops to ensure the aggressive game plan gets off the ground.
Irregular Inclusions:
Suffocate: This hits all of the deadly units from statuary maidens to opposing ripknife assassins. All merchants and teacher of humility are susceptible to this card as well.
Amilli, Cloudmarshal: We dropped Tavrod for Amilli. "Gasp!" It'll be OK. In the top 100 Masters Icaria and her greatest fan Rizhan rule the roost. Amilli's broad butt and flying status allow him to block these threats and he is great into time matchups, where there are few answers to him.
Irregular Exclusions:
Unseen Commando- Looking at the current meta of removal pile, time midrange variants and call to arms combo decks, this card is just not good, at the moment. So he has been replaced by the battlemage.
Conclusion
Please remember reader this deck is built for the Masters meta in and around the top 100. Argenport is still close to a tier 1 deck, imo, and has the flexible cards needed for you to adjust to your meta.
Thanks for reading.
