Time Aggro

A classic deck that hasn't been meta for a while but has still gotten me into masters a few times. Not a budget deck and can't really be made cheaply since it relies on playing the biggest units at each point on the curve. The game plan is pretty simple: ramp into big fatties and swing. Xenan Obelisk also turns the mana dorks into threats for a backup plan. The best starts with this deck are a) T1 Initiate of the Sands into T2 (any mana dork) into T3 Worldbearer Behemoth, or b) T2 Trail Maker + Sand Warriors into T3 Xenan Obelisk. One thing to watch out for is that this deck runs the full set of Amber Monument and Temple Standard so a quick ramp to 5 power can be punished very heavily by hailstorm. The deck also wants to play units at or above curve each turn, which can make sequencing depleted power tricky.

This deck has a great skycrag matchup (just grab Infinite Hourglass to counter Permafrost and Mindfire/Cloud of Ash) and is decent against haunted highway. Any deck running sets of Annihilate and Vanquish, or Hailstorm and Harsh Rule is a problem though. In removal-heavy matchups Dawnwalker is your best friend.

Other cards to consider include Veteran Mercenary, Mystic Ascendant, Friendly Wisp, Amber Acolyte, Lunar Magus, and Dissociate. Splashing another color can make the deck stronger but reduces the consistency of the heavy time cards like Sand Warrior, Dawnwalker and Thundering Kerasaur.
