Was playing draft the other day and for and in the draft
Gates of Hope came up. For rare drafting reasons i decided to pick it up, and then got an idea to try and build a deck that is based on gaining armour.
The other inspiration for the deck was to try
Canopy Archer from the last Expansion, so the shell of the deck ends up being Hooru. The idea of the deck is somewhat straight forward - we have
Ageless Knight and
Canopy Archer that have ETB effects that generate armor, and can trigger bolster effects. We have
Steelwarren Outfitter and
Spearcoat Hulk as the main payoffs for those in the form of Ramp and Pushing Damage, and then the rest of the deck is a build around this.
At the moment wanted to share the deck, as i've been playing it low masters and getting around 50%, meaning it's not thaaaat bad and maybe somebody has an idea how to make it better + since this runs cards you normally wouldn't run, it might be a something a bit fresh.
Maybe there is some bolster variant that can also work in FPS or maybe 4F, as for example
Aerie Steward is a great payoff for this, but hard to make it work because of the influence.
