Just a fun deck I've been playing about with. Wins a good portion of the time but against aggro decks it can be a little close if they perfect curve you.
So to get into it.
strategy+card breakdown
Nothing too complicated here. You're wanting to ramp up and throw down a big boi as soon as possible. Mystic+merchant+ sand storm titan is a hand I prefer to start with but honestly it seems to do fine without it.
If you're against strength in numbers. You NEED swirl the sands from the market (I ended up adding it just for that deck). As soon as obelisk comes down you want it gone. However sometimes it's best to leave it in hand until the ai attacks if you have a decent line up already. Other times it's best to go on the aggresive and kill it asap. Depends on the board and how many units you have on board.
If you're against a deck with bigger units you want an ambush unit on hand.
When you get to 8 time influence
Alhed Ascending becomes a beast. Every big unit adds at least 5/5 to his total stats...permanently. you drop an alhed, then kairos. You're at 17/17 with overwhelm... yushkov can also sack alhed after he attacks to do an extra 17 damage to face.
Kairos is kairos. As soon as he hits the field it's usually over.
Yushkov, Brutal Tyrant is a card I can't say I love in this deck honestly. But good removal is something praxis just doesn't have tons of. And yushkov is excellent at killing off big threats in this deck. Or sometimes just winning on the spot by sacking a big unit and hitting the face. Oooor the odd win by his mastery ability and getting palace down. Giving all your big units berserk is insane!
Waker of Ancients is awesome when nearly half of your units get warp. It's stats aren't great though which can be a little scary against aggro decks. Definitely don't want more than one on hand depending on the enemy you're facing.
Purify again not a huge fan of this. But it's been growing on me with how effective it is here. Silence can save the odd game even when 3 damage isn't enough to kill. (I.e the katra lifesteal deck).
The 2 deadly ambushers (Desert alchemist and scorpion wasp) are just needed imo. Sometimes the ai plays some biiiiiig units that even our big bois can't reach, and purify can't silence away (e.g katra or a weapons deck)
Alchemist is also great for the plunder effect.
Mystic Ascendant I expected to be a dud compared to grodovs. But honestly it seems to be my go to card at the moment...well.. Before kairos anyway
Tocas is good for ramp and some anti aggro. Definitely pulls his weight.
Possible improvements
1. Maybe initiate of the sands? Honestly can't tell if I love or hate it. Waste of time drawn mid game but fantastic getting behemoth on t3.
2. Not huge on the lack of interaction with the opponents cards. Basically just relying on outvaluing.
3. The market could maybe use improving ...Grodovs burden is actually the card I use far less here than anything else.
4. Possibly a couple of less times etchings for something. Unsure on what yet. Possibly beseech?
Any thoughts and comments are welcome! Thanks for reading.
Edit: decided to try a couple of friendly wisps to see how it goes. Might be too greedy though.
I feel like it still need work as I havent had the best of luck with it, but thank you very much for alerting me to this Yushkov xD completely forgot he's a thing.
You must have Word of Power from the new campaign in the market. It is insane finisher vanilla, and could be a OTK if Yushkov somehow got you the Hooru influence maybe with the help of Trailmaker instead of Initiate.
You can also market an obelisk to make sure your small units grow for late game.
Xumcan and Touvon are good big bois to consider as well
Sadly I haven't crafted many xumcan or touvan yet:(. Was definitely looking at them.
Word of power though ooft... definitely gonna try this over burden. Thanks for the idea! Might try obelisk over ascendant as much as i love that card.
Ty!
