Fun little brew that I've been playing with a lot of success on ladder since FoX release. The deck applies a lot of pressure early on with Borderlands Lookout, Teacher, Sodi's Spellshaper, and high priority removal targets like Horde Plunderer and Sodi. Games can swing very quickly after sticking a Plunderer or Sodi. When games go long, you can typically gum up the board and survive until you take over with Waystone Fragment or a Crystallize for alpha strike. You can also just land a Gleaming Shield on a Sodi and sit back as you draw and play your whole hand every turn, a.k.a. the wombo combo.

MVPs in the deck:

Waystone Fragment: Most aggro decks will scoop to a Spellcrafted Fragment. In grindy midrange matches, the Fragment provides everything we want- board presence, board-wide buff, life gain, and triggers Sodi for a single card. Furthermore, playing this on turn 4 after sticking a Plunderer is an instant win in some games, and puts you really far ahead in the others. Also helps all your early dudes survive Hailstorms.

Sodi the Metamorph: One of the sleepers of FoX, imo. Cheating power costs should never be underestimated; having 8 power on turn 4 is whack. I think we all remember pre-nerf Combrei Chains. But the value doesn't end there. She even provides sustained card advantage just for surviving. All on top of a fairly sized body for cost, despite strict influence requirements. Typically, if you play her on turn 3 and manage to Muster on 4, it's game over.

Horde Plunderer: This barbarian finally found the home she always wanted. Between Waystone Fragment and Sodi and her Spellshaper, this archetype finally received some much-needed support. As mentioned, Waystone Fragment on 4 after Plunderer is wild. Spellshaper becomes absolutely busted when the equivocate is free, and Plunderer's Berserk plays nicely with it.

Sodi's Spellshaper: I think we all knew this card would be good. We were right. I'd love to find a way to include another 1-drop to curve into this but we're trying to play higher ICV cards in this deck. Snowcrust Yeti would be the natural choice but I'm not sure that I'm ready to cut anything else yet or sacrifice any more top deck power.

Honorable Mentions:

Gleaming Shield: Does unfair things with Sodi. Gives removal-heavy decks fits. Generally this card sucks but it is worth playing due to its amazing synergy with Sodi. The tempo swing followed by sustained card draw just closes games out.

Tome of Repetition: Another card that generally sucks but has strong enough synergy to justify its place in the list. When Plunderer is in play, both Spellcraft triggers are free.

The rest of the deck mostly tries to draw cards and remove blockers. Devotee of the Sands is questionable, especially as the only component of our ramp package. She's on the chopping block. Feast-caller has also underperformed for the most part. It's such a strong bet against the control decks of the format, however, that I wouldn't feel right cutting it.

Hope you all enjoy the list, GLHF!
