I am a simple creature. I see
Waystone Gate, I build a greedy deck. Sometimes it fails. Sometimes, it works. This is the latter.
Peaked at RANK #1(!) in the first week, going 10-0. Dropped down in the second and third weeks, with 6-4 records both times, but went 9-1 in week 4 to bring myself back up to juuuust within top 10, at rank #9. Will probably fall out by end of month, but until then I have no complaints.
Anyway, the core of the deck was formed around Waystone Gate and the fact that I had a ton of Tokens in my pool, allowing me to play pretty much whatever I wanted. The deck itself is mostly Combrei, with the intent of playing out Intrepid Longhorn on turn 2. Beyond that, it's backed up by a lot of solid cards and some excellent removal.
I probably could have gotten a bit better of a record if I had been even greedier - I was 4-faction (no primal) in weeks 1 and 2, but in week 3, I cut shadow for half my games, resulting in several losses. Losing access to
Collapse really hurt my ability to kill things. Deck did much better once I resumed the splash. In week 4, I opened a
Sorcerer's Wand and decided to finally go full 5-faction, which worked out quite well.
Overall, I'd say this strategy is not for the faint of heart - there were definitely a lot of aggressive mulliganing, and a few games where I had awkward draws and was missing a faction (or just had all my power enter depleted). But ultimately, I'd much rather play sweet cards and have sketchy influence than play bad cards with good influence.
