I've been working on some version of Argenport Control for a while, ever since
Backbreaker was nerfed. It's still a decent card. Running maindeck
Svetya, Lightbringer means that you have multiple lock-down turns compared to other decks like Vision Value (but not Purpose control with the
Replication Cell combo).
I recently swapped
Equalize and
Know Thy Enemy with each other. This deck isn't built to capitalize on
Know Thy Enemy compared to other lists, otherwise I probably might run Svetya in the market and bring in Inquisitor Makto. Plus this is a pretty controlly deck, and Equalize is better maindeck if you can pull it off because it means you don't have to leave up an awkward
Winchest Merchant and leave up your opponent's best unit.
It's not a slam-dunk unbeatable deck, but it has decent play with early disruption (
Exploit and
Builder's Decree), a swath of removal, and decent threats. I haven't made room for
The Speaking Circle but I'm not
that much of a monster. But speaking of the removal suite, it's a big mix, currently 12 total single-target spells in the main deck not counting
Vara's Favor. I couldn't decide which were best, so I went with the grab bag. Even the unequivocal and classic
Deathstrike found its way in there for those hard-to-reach threats.
Can stand up pretty well against Vision Value decks, despite being down a color (and notably Send An Agent, which is often used against
Citywide Ban to unlock their top-end cards).
