The first deck I partially brewed up during Bastion Rising spoiler season, and it's a freaking blast to play when it gets going. I'm thankful for this because Clockroaches haven't been anywhere on the radar for the expedition format, despite getting a sweet alt-art promo and a clockroach overlord in the form of
Epoch Infestation in the most recent big set.
This deck plays with a few new toys from Bastion Rising:
Metallic Razorbeak - This is a 1/1 berserking flyer for 2 with an interesting entomb ability. It grants berserk and flying to another unit after it dies. Could be relevant.
Near Perfect Imitation - This 5-cost spell turns one of your units into a copy of a unit in your void. It then moves the unit from your void to your market. We use this to copy a
Clockroach in the void and tuck it into the market. This allows us to shuffle 4 copies of it into the deck with
Wasteland Broker. Trust me, these roaches get huge.
Uxu, Carnivorous Bloom - With everything hitting the graveyard, Uxu can chill in the deck and do his thing. If and when he shows up, he's absolute gravy.
The rest of the deck:
Hasty Builder - We need to do a bit of void manipulation for this deck to work. He's cheap, has a good body, and can shuffle our void into the deck in a pinch.
Grodov's Stranger - 2 of, just in case, for the same reason.
Dark Wisp - Early game blocker and card drawing.
Tock Tick - Late game bombs in this deck. Revenge is very relevant.
Twinning Ritual - Copy Clockroaches or Uxus for extra lols.
Draft 2
Wildly inconsistent, but fun when it does work. If anyone has any ideas to improve the consistency of the deck I'm open to suggestion. Added
Defile for early-game removal and
Desert Alchemist and fixed the power base to smooth out draws (hopefully) and fixed the market. Still not 100% happy with it though.
Draft 3
Minor revisions. Removed
Defile for the hopes that we can go faster and bigger with another
Desert Alchemist and a pair of
Ancient Lore
